Alexander Volkanovski Training with 11x Taekwon-Do & Karate World Champion Carl Van Roon for Yair Rodriguez.

Alexander Volkanovski will return to the Octagon July 8th with the UFC featherweight champion defending his crown against interim title holder Yair Rodriguez.
Volkanovski is looking to bounce back after suffering a razor-close decision loss earlier this year to Islam Makhachev,
There are plenty of options on the table for the all-conquering 34-year-old. While he has his sights set on 155 pounds, he has also been called out by big names at bantamweight.
Aljamain Sterling has voiced his desire to face the Australian should he defend his belt against Sean O'Malley, while former champion Henry Cejudo is still eager to face Volkanovski despite losing at UFC 288.
July 8, where the pair will headline the International Fight Week card in Las Vegas.

don't forget the jitsu's part champ, no point working what your good at ?? work on your weakness, leg locks, arm bars, kimuras etc. But doing kicks like 180 degrees turning side kick is a good suit for you because I haven't seen you use it, good work.

The details that alex does and prepares before any fight is next level man. Before the fight with ortega, he practiced getting choked so many times that he was immune to any submission attemps. Against islam he practiced cardio and defending takedowns while tired enabling him to go 5 rounds while feeling no tiredness. And now he is training with a taekwondo world champion before Yair. Alexander the Great for a reason.💪💪💪

This is why Volk is GOATed. He has absolutely no arrogance and will consistently go out of his comfort zone, e.g. masters of the craft who are also much bigger than Volk, to find experts who can help him further build his tools, specific to the situation and opponent.
This is why volk is the GOAT. His training camp is incredible. He brings in dudes with similar styles to his opponents. No wasted training sessions. His prep is unmatched and he's always learning new things

However, it proves size matters against Islam Makhachev. For us part time martial artists, the old 90's bodybuilder and boxer will always kick our ass.
I just don't see anyone doin much to this man, he's cut from the same cloth as anderson, jones and gsp but he takes it to another level with his well roundedness, my personal favorite fighter of all time🐐

@@micalzoncillo249 Yair is definitely the most dangerous man Volks faced, he'll tell you so himself. I do believe that volk has the sense and iq to neutralize that danger but like you said all it really takes is one beautiful kick from Yair to switch shit up, I think this is gonna be one of the best featherweight fights we've ever had and I just can't wait to see who the baddest man between these 2 is

Goes to show you casuals don't take into consideration how much punching Yair did against both Holloway and Josh. Yair is evolving too and has noticeably changed his style to more of a balance between punching, elbows, submissions and using a lot less kicking than he did in his earlier days. No doubt he will try to use his lengthy kicks against Volk but don't be surprised if he doesn't use them too much to surprise the champ given how hes' performed in his recent fights.
Volk is really smart for training with taekwondo champion, he's going to use Yair's weapons against him

Man I really believe that it's guys like this that just has made MMA so great to me, a Champion that wants to stay busy and is giving everything in every fight is just amazing to watch. Thanks Volk for everything you do for our entertainment we all backing you from RSA!

Volk is world class and so his training partners are. Whether it's Craig Jones or Carl.
Now I see why Alex is always so prepared in the octagon, he trains with champions of every discipline, depending on what his opponent is great at, which is what makes him so great. Keep up the awesome work Alex, fan for life.
I have Volk everyday for every fight. He won the last one, regardless of the decision. I back him for this fight - but have never been more scared that if he gets caught it’s over.

He is a quick learner for sure. Learning new fighting techniques near the fight try to implement them during the fight is nearly impossible. For some of us it can take years.

Yair is so slick, hes like charles in 145 division, volks better keep distance out, dont rush, or yair gonna dismantle him slowly, this gonna be going on striking fight

Yair not a specialist tho he's shown more well roundedness in his last 2 fights submitting Josh and throwing a volume of punches against Holloway. Casual really called Yair a specialist aka a one dimensional fighter.

Shout out Joe Lopez for his outstanding tactics! That's what underrated about Alex and his team: they have wonderful tactics. They study endlessly & prepare they fighter for all the hazards in the innumerable variations. This fight game is mostly tactics, precise tactics not silly game plans.
I love both Yair and Volk. This should be an awesome fight.

But we're so underrated in the MMA community. We have flaws in Taekwondo such as our defense but we have better kicks than any other style. Our sport's reputation was ruined mainly because of the Olympics and these Dojos giving everyone belts and only caring about money rather than making fighters. Grappling + Taekwondo would be lethal tho.
Volkanovski is p4p best because he treats every fight like his last. He wants to be great and works hard towards it and honors the process. I respect any fighter who can continue the grind even when they have accomplished so much.

@@nestorjed Yeah I remember that and more recently at bangtao but what I mean is with top technical thai fighters like the ones I mentioned. Many ufc champ would get a lot benefits training with those guys, the way we kick , knee, elbow in Thailand it's so different.
