Alexander Volkanovski trains with Craig Jones for his upcoming bout at UFC 290 against Yair Rodriguez.
Craig Jones is an Australian grappler and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt competitor and coach. An IBJJF world No-Gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion as a purple belt, Jones is a two-time ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship silver medallist and a three-time Polaris Pro Grappling champion. .
Alexander Volkanovski will return to the Octagon July 8th with the UFC featherweight champion defending his crown against interim title holder Yair Rodriguez.
Volkanovski is looking to bounce back after suffering a razor-close decision loss earlier this year to Islam Makhachev,
There are plenty of options on the table for the all-conquering 34-year-old. While he has his sights set on 155 pounds, he has also been called out by big names at bantamweight.
Aljamain Sterling has voiced his desire to face the Australian should he defend his belt against Sean O'Malley, while former champion Henry Cejudo is still eager to face Volkanovski despite losing at UFC 288.
July 8, where the pair will headline the International Fight Week card in Las Vegas.

I sure hope you get a finish, but Yair is an athletic "cheater" that is seemingly impossible to get out of there. So I think it's gonna be a decision with you mostly dominating him

Khabib predicted a 1st or 2nd round finish for Islam, yet he was holding on for dear life with that embarrassing performance. Volk outstruck him in 4 out of 5 rounds and almost 10-8'd him in the 5th, a pretty clear win for him within the 10-point-must system, and an undoubtable win for him under more realistic scoring systems like in Pride/One FC
