ALEX PAGULAYAN vs MAX EBERLE - 2024 Derby City Classic Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge
Спорт
The old adage is that the first and the last racks are the hardest to win. There might not be a better example of this than this match between “The Lion” Alex Pagulayan and “Mad Max” Max Eberle.
Pagulayan is a legend in the game, who is known for always displaying a sense of humor and entertaining the audience, in addition to the many world titles he has won.
Eberle has been well known in the industry for many years, being a collegiate champion and winner of many regional titles throughout his career.
This is a race to ten, alternating breaks, on the Diamond Bigfoot 10 Foot table.
Jeremy Jones and Mark Wilson call the action.

Gotta love Alex... always tries keep it light hearted and smile.
I've been friends with Max since 2002. I remember we drove to a medium sized tournaments at Hard Times Bellflower. We were both entered in it obviously ... if I recall, I was up like 8 - 3 going to 9 when a few freaky things happened which let me start dogging it and losing. One of which ... my opponent apparently came with a cheering section, but instead of cheering for him -- they were literally heckling me. lol. And cheering -- when I missed or fouled. lol On one inning when my opponent was kicking ... he lingered at the table after whiffing the object ball. I looked at him and then grabbed the cue ball. After he watched me pick it up, he goes "oh I hit it." And from ACROSS THE ROOM, what do I hear..?? My "good buddy" Max's voice yelling "good hit." ... helping some guy he didn't know. 🤣 At the expense of the guy who drove him there, whose place he was staying at. We probably would've worked it out, but it was for us to work out. NO ONE else. We all know the rules. But I guess Max was "doing me a favor." I let it irritate me, and dogged it a enough to lose. So before you go feeling too bad for old Max.... in my book..?? 🤣 It's going to be a while before I let that go. As it was, I think it was about 10 years ago.

Truman, we practiced together at Danny K's after I got knocked out of the tourney. I didn't get a shot. About ten years ago. :)
Max can keep practicing. Maybe he’ll be able to make cosmo runout hill hill next time
It's great that info doesn't give anything away, but it's quite telling by the looks on the backer's and sideline bettors faces how this turns out. 😢
I want to ask a question I was told since day one 10 ball was call shot are they changing it now
Unbelievable. Max had the win in the BAG but decided to hit the 9 in the side at WARP SPEED to lose the match.
Man, I feel bad for both players on this one. What a rough match! I know they're not used to the equipment yet, but that was pretty ugly!
Could someone explain to me why they alternate the Brakes in 10 ball . Thanks

Don’t want them to get overheated.
What is the black slide thing Alex is using on his shaft when he breaks?
@rogerscottcathey

YOU WOKE UP ALEX 😅
is it me or are the jaws really tight?
I miss Makayla Tabb though, as a ref.
I notice Max likes top center ball shots and very little extreme English. In contrast, I've noticed Efren Reyes resort to extreme English and low ball shots preferentially. That seems to be true of Bugs Rucker's methods as well. It seems that top shot players get in more trouble than middle ball or low with spin do. I may be wrong about that. It's hard to figure out why certain players try positions after making a ball using too much force with running English, when killing the ball could get them better position or leave it tough for their opponent should they miss. Idk

I think it can be very hard to stun the ball around perfectly if the nerves are there, unless you’re Joshua filler haha
👁️👁️ hi there
if your down 5 to 2 , means you have to slow their roll ... More Defence and make the best of your shots
APA?
Too many scratches for Max. Should have won because Alex was off his usual game. Good match though!!!
WHAT HAPPENED ALEX 😢

They need to stop flashing random comments to prevent spoilers like this one.
Efren Reyes is the GOAT though.

Playing down to someones speed is common. I think it’s subconscious, look tpa’s are often close high or low
