Are alcoholism and Addiction dreams relapse dreams? Drunk Dreams can be alarming or down right annoying, but dream analysis can help find the dream meaning. Dream interpretation has existed for eons, but when it comes to drinking dreams, I usually consult my AA sponsor. Are alcoholic dreams different than "normie" dreams? If a non-alcoholic has a dream about drinking alcohol, should he/she look up drunk dream meaning? What about drug using dreams? Drug addiction dreams plague THAT side of me too! Can I find drug dream meanings in the same category as alcohol dream meaning? In sobriety, I've periodically found myself dreaming about drinking and using drugs, and considering the pit falls and trickery of addiction and alcoholism, I refuse to take drug dreams or drunk dreams lightly. However, I've learned how to balance my emotions with my logic when it comes to drug using dreams, using drugs in dreams, or alcoholism and drug abuse visuals or fantasies.

After 35 years sober, yes I too have had those dreams. While very disappointing why dreaming, it is a wonderful feeling to wake up and realize it was a nightmarish dream. They will happen. I have never been able to associate it to any dark desire to drink in real life. But I'm sure all of us fear going back to a horrible life of addiction. I take them as a reminder that we are human and subject to remission. I would not get to worrisome about it, but do cherish the fact it was just a dream. Not a premonition of things to come.

I'm on day 17. I've been having dreams of me drinking so often. It's fun at first but quickly turns bad, I end up embaressing myself and everybody in my life give up on me. I feel so much regret. Then I wake up and feel so amazing that it isn't true, it does motivate me to stay sober because I never want to feel ashamed of myself again.

I know right! It's like a "freebee!" I am SO relieved when I wake up, it brings simple gratitude for simply NOT BEING DRUNK AND HIGH! I love that! This last dream was so real, and I was sleeping so deep, that in the dream I said to myself "damn I wish I was dreaming right now...if only this weren't real..." But I was incredibly upset because I was convinced that it wasn't a dream!

I am having alot of dreams lately. Very long dreams. I can even go to the restroom and go back to sleep and return right back to it. It was dark and dirty. Holes in the ground with people hiding in the holes and the dirt was covered by paper with cutout flaps. Weird I know. I recall being deprived and thirsty and Fear of these weird people. Fences and drones and weird events that they held as a community. I don't understand and I DID NOT wake up craving, just weirded out

Hi James! I occasionally have night terrors even though I'm not in recovery! Not sure what triggers it? It's such a relief to wake up!🙏👍

Triggers are environmental elements that influence urges or cravings for ones addictive behavior. "The taste of non alcoholic beer triggers me to want real beer."

@@SoberJames but if I'm not feeling upset or anxious why do I have such a restless time and wake up trying to scream? I go to bed feeling ok or to me I am! Yet every so often bam! Right out the blue I experience this?

Not sure Sabbitha. I remember a guy that slept in the bunk below me, when I was on the ship in the Navy, waking up thrashing and screaming. www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/sleep-terrors/symptoms-causes/syc-20353524
