    I've never drank before but my twin started at 14. At the age of 30 now I look about 21 and he looks about 35. It's insane how differently we've aged. It's like looking into the future. He also randomly smoked when drunk but never smoked regularly. He drinks 3-4 times a week though and got really big into partying in college. My mother never drank either and she looked young until her 50s. Could be just our genetics + alcohol or some form of correlation, but I think it's an interesting outcome.

    Iv never drank in my life too and thier are big benefits that people don't bring up, I'm 36 and look in my late 20s, the one who don't drink and party success is very easy for that person because he is less distracted. My kids benefit alot because when I'm off I'm not drank so all I can do is spend time with kids. Kids develop much better when parents are involved so no drunk weakened no hang over success is very easy. The list goes on

    In the US, the average drink (12oz beer, 5 oz wine, or 1.5 oz liquor) contains about 14 g of alcohol. Not 40 g. The "one drink of 40 g" mentioned in this video is more like 3 average drinks. And 150 g is closer to 10 drinks which will probably *definitely* hinder gains made on the gym.

    bullshit. if you are pro fitness guy /bodybuilder preparing for contest or some shit, sure, alcohol is bad dont drink it. but if you are just regular guy that goes to gym 4-5 days a week, trying to look better and not drinking alcohol for that reason is just retarded. pointless. everyone needs 1 night of relaxation after end of the week. it wont kill you.

    ***** I agree that alcohol isn't going to hurt your gains much if any when drinking in moderation. The problem is that when I usually drink it ends up being more than moderation and that is what can really hurt your gains. Just better for me to refrain from alcohol altogether.

  • @haktezak7413

    well i can tell you that one night of semi to heavy drinking definetly wont destroy your gains or have any big impact to you. it would have if you are on strict diet and you are really REALLY DEEP into a prep for some big competition, but I am pretty sure you arent and one crazy night wont affect shit. but hey, its your life, do whatever you fucking want. i know that i workout 5 times a week, have 8 hour work time and that end of the week I drink, alot. Why? cause i want let my mind free, let it flow and be relaxed for atleast 1 night. Let gym be important part of your life, but dont let gym be your life.

Don't drink and eat junk afterwards obviously. I don't usually eat or snack while drinking. I feel it doesn't change anything if your diet is on point and you're staying active to maintain your weight and aesthetics, but it gets in the way when you're trying to go into very low BF and can't eliminate those most stubborn remaining bits of fat.

    There is some mistake: REM is not the deepest sleep-phase, it's a very light one, where waking up is very possible. The deepest phase is the SWS-Phase (slow-wave-sleep).

    REM is not the deepest of our EEG-sleep stages. NREM3 / Slow wave sleep is. REM is an emergent stage 1 which shows 8-12 Hz in an EEG. NREM3 is usually about 1-3Hz.

    When you mentioned 40g of alcohol in your example are you referring to the actual alcohol weight in a given drink or the drink size in general? (Let's say US Standard shot volume size is 44ml-so just to roughly equate 1g to 1ml- a shot of vodka/tequila let's say at 40%alcohol content) will equate 2 shots/drinks?

    just one thing: REM sleep is not the "deepest" but actually one of the shallower stages of sleep. when you first fall asleep, you go into REM, then you go into deeper sleep and come up to REM after about 80 minutes and repeat cycle. REM is also the last stage before you wake up.

  • @PictureFit

    @PictureFit

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Ron Togunov What I've read is that you initially go into the first stage of sleep then all the way to stage 4 (actual "deep sleep"). From then, you cycle back through the stages but during the second half of sleep, stage one is replaced with REM. That's why it's considered as part of the latter stages. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @rontogunov282

    PictureFit Google image search"REM sleep cycle". When we sleep, we go through about 5 sleep cycles per night, with each cycle containing several stages of sleep (REM and sages 1-4). You go into REM as you fall asleep, before waking up, and at the end of each 90 minutes cycle.

    Okay so if you drink plenty of water that night, you'll be fine. And also, drinking reduces REM sleep? Isn't that good? During REM, your brain activity is almost as high as it is during consciousness, isn't it? Isn't Delta wave sleep the best type for restoration?
