Funny how in Spain they never talk about billiards having 2 of the most talented players in the circuit. Well deserved for Alcaide, he seems like a nice guy and I have never seen him doing any arrogant moves like many others. And big Kudos to Raga. I am sure he will be winning many tournaments in the future. I think he just got a bit over pumped there in the end, which is quite understandable. In any case, landing the second spot on your first appearance in a major tournament is not something many can say... Bright future for the Filipino...

Play the percentages. That was the correct shot selection. Imperfect execution caused the miss. Raga is very talented and young and would likely win a major title in the future . Hope he has the positive attitude to move forward from this heart breaking defeat. He was so close

People don't realise it. That was definitely the right shot. Haters kept saying he could have made the six to the side pocket but they don't realise the margin of error for that. Fools running their mouths like they are better than the one playing in the final.

@@kurida7the safety on the 2 ball the rack before though? That shot on fhe two seems pretty doable for a player of his caliber. Tight landing spot on the 4 ball and maybe some traffic to navigate but the runout was there for the taking.

Fuck the percentages, I hate players who play like that, it's boring as fuck. That is why pool has such low prize money, people are not interested in watching a borefest. Players should go for crazy attacking shots and spin that cueball with as many cushions as possible.

Alcaide has been Spain's one of the best pro pool players for a very long time. Veteran Alcaide won the gold but had a hardtime with much younger Raga.

He’s known to be one of the best filipino players for quite a while now. Many talented filipino pool players but dont get into the rankings just because they dont join internationally sanctioned competitions. Right now raga’s fargo world ranking is 4th in the world.

Wow! Incredibly exciting and nail biting. Too bad there was no way to watch the full match, even after I paid to watch this on Matchroom. This is terrible for the game of pool, that fans and viewers can't access these matches, even when willing to pay. Still, I was hoping Alcaide would win, only because people were doubting him. In the end, Raga lost the match with the 6-ball miss in the final rack. It was his to win. He's such a talent though. He'll have many major titles in his future. I bow to both players.

@@rubenleary8812 Yeh, that 6-ball miss was brutal. I almost cried too. What gets me angry is we are constantly telling Matchroom and Nineball that it's impossible to watch these final matches. Emily sits in her ringside seat oblivious to the hoops us viewers have to jump through to watch. It's utterly frustrated. We are left to watching the highlight reel on KZread. Was the streaming service Dazn? Because sometimes it works, sometimes not.

I was willing to pay yesterday for Canada but the website is not straigh-forward, like they don't know how to make it crystal clear how it all works. Its a shame cause they are clearly putting high-high quality events all around the world for multiple sports, just not really dialed in atm about paywall watching. A shame.

@joelvelazquez7624 I don't need to watch it live, I'm fine with the KZread highlights. But Matchroom puts in on KZread in hopes of getting views to make more money off it which makes sense. They've done well with previous opens, but this is the first where they've done delayed releases and I don't think it benefits them. They're losing viewers to channels who already posted highlights and results. Also, spoiling the end of the semifinals by posting the thumbnail for the finals match too early. I think you've misconstrued my original comment as me personally being upset, I am not. I'm simply saying I don't think business wise this format was best for them.

All I was saying was Matchroom is losing money due to losing viewers because other channels already had the results/highlights up an hour before they did. People could find out in 20 minutes what Matchroom was making them wait hours for. Just don't think business wise they made the best decision.

I felt like Raga could've floated that 6 clean into the side pocket on the last rack, plenty of angle. Tough loss, he had this match won. Edit: I went and try this exact setup and it’s nearly impossible to get it in. Tried many times and it kept hanging up on the edge and won’t drop. However if you play the kiss 7 like he did, it was doable but had to give it some speed to ricochet in.

same thoughts too but the moment camera pans in to the side pocket i believe it requires extreme precision to pocket the six thus the carom option is too damn tempting. But either way both option are tough to execute it is just a matter of which is more comfortable

The shot at 40:12. If Raga had played that with topspin instead. He would have won the tournament. Objectball took just enough of topspin from the contact to make it miss the pocket.

safe on the 2 is absolutely the right decision. no positional value for the 4 next, if power draw the right side pocket becomes a problem, topspin will possibly sends the cue ball towards the 6-9, so the safest play is safety on the 2. Raga just slightly overhit the cue ball, otherwise cue ball would have stuck behind the 6-9
