@@jax9074 I was there. There was no disrespect. It is a cultural thing. Not cheering when somebody misses an easy one is something that the crowd needs to learn but they will. There was nothing but respect and enjoyment. Come to Vietnam. Live here. The people are wonderful.

This might be the best Pool tournament I've ever seen, thanks mainly to the audience reveling in the event. Congrats to Jayson Shaw, who beat me 8-6 way back in 2007 in his first major US pool event at Las Vegas in the IPT. I was slightly more experienced than he was with the US tables, but his talent shone to all with eyes to see, even back then.

Jason is truly a legend. He made some spectacular shots, came from behind victory and much to the delight of the crowd. This is the most exciting championship match of the 9-ball tournament history. The Vietnamese spectators are really into it. The Hanoi open was a success, good job Vietnam.

I know that you’re all high on this match because it was a good one but don’t start claiming it to be the best in history just because you really enjoyed watching it today. Calm your tits.

Hanoi never disappointed!! What a final, what a crowd. Hanoi should host more events!!!

@@stevehiggerson7328maybe one day, but I think they really want to focus right now on making the game more cohesive. It’s already confusing for lots of people starting to watch pool that their are games other than 8-ball, but at least a lot know of 9 ball. Adding 10 ball into the mix might create some confusion. Also, I think all the major events being 9-ball allows us to get the best possible pool out of lots of players, since they’re really only practicing one game.

this is the funniest and wholesome pool final i've seen. The crowd is absolutely amazing and Jayson Shaw is the perfect player for crowd like this. :)

Thank you, Matchroom for all you've done for pool these last few years! Production, content, quality, professionalism, you're setting the bar so high. This reminds me of the rebirth of the UFC and all the things they did to revitalize a somewhat dead sport by making smart moves and bringing much needed energy.

I was watching this at my kitchen table and my grandfather asked what I was watching. I said the Hanoi Open 9 Ball. He said “Wow that’s Hanoi … times have sure changed”. He was a green beret special forces in the Vietnam War.

Hanoi Open was some tournament.. It is like some tv show, all the matches full of unpredictable moments.. simply on it's best.. Congrats to the finalist's, really nice game, tension all the way thru the match. Noticed that Jayson is on his old game with wooden shaft, playing waay better and smoother than carbon one he used.. Jayson you deserved it, feel free to be proud of yourself. Albin cannot be mad on himself.. in one moment I thought it was over with his lead of 4 racks in a row.. Thanks Vietnam, you are really professional hosts..

Not the best final ever. Far from it. Shaw played badly at times and Albin let him off the hook. Yet Shaw was pure bedlam the last five racks, letting the cue ball fly. Scintillating finish.

I am an enormous SVB fan, but this my favorite match in pool by a wide margin. Some heart stopping mistakes that were capitalized on, down to the wire and Shaw's raw emotion at the end. And of course the crowd! Absolutely spectacular

I think Jayson needed this badly, his game and his confidence have been a bit low the past few years, and he only really plays his best when he´s confident. But he will have to work on his safety game though, or the robots will always grind him down. The top table of world pool is more crowded than ever with so many new talents emerging - as Jayson, SVB, Filler and now Ruiz have been finding out.

I think if the crowd hadn’t been sharking Fedor during their match then Fedor would have won. But the crowd heavily favored Jason and showed complete lack of etiquette during their match.

I sometimes go down to Jay's room and gamble with him on his 4" pocket table, this is nerves all day long, he drills balls on that table like he's not even thinking about it. Some people hate him over his past with svb and earl but he's really one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

Man the crowd is absolutely awesome! What a thrilling match!

The gunslinger shot him down, he pockets balls like Earl, just raw talent on display and absolutely wonderful to watch, Albin shot his solid all around game, what a player himself, the Vietnamese crowd made this tournament very exciting to watch, and a big thank you to the sponsors for bringing the tournament to us, a job well done! 👏👏👏
