Alan Watts - You Create What You See (SHOTS OF WISDOM 46)

The illusory nature of what we call "reality" has always been based on our visual perception. Thus, the intuitive conclusion that what is real, is what we see, seemed for millennia to be the most obvious postulate of logical thinking. Although a totally different point of view has been advocated by almost every spiritual tradition for many centuries, it has failed to go mainstream due to the materialistic indoctrination of the human mind. This false construct which seemed indestructible for centuries has been shaken to the core of its very fundaments by the findings of quantum physics in the 20th century. The energy-based nature of everything perceptible (so-called reality) depends fundamentally on the perceiver. Reality lies literally in the eyes of the beholder.
The participatory nature of reality, although it has been a scientific fact for decades now, is still far from being part and parcel of our collective consciousness. This is because it represents such a quantum leap in understanding that most people barely try to contemplate it, let alone live by it.
In this talk, Alan Watts displays his unparalleled ability to explain the explainable in a way that makes even the most challenging shift from such a deep-rooted psychological paradigm to a comprehensible, and thus workable concept seem as a simple task.

If only we can realize that we are creating what we are seeing, we will start creating a more humane world. Alan Watts' insight is impeccable.

When we change the way we look at things... the things we look at change... M.G.

His wisdom from far Eastern thought, mysticism, and religion is very insightful. It does make you question the sham of things in our Western world. More so, the conditioning that has been put into and has then become our society. Conditioning in a sense to 'see' our world from a very mechanical perspective. I personally feel the world is less mechanical and more organic than we think and feel it is. I love these videos regarding Alan watts because they evoke a sense of thought. ☮️☯️❤️

This is one of the biggest questions that hauted me for years. I've never read or heard a better explanation than this one. Ansolutely mind blowing.

Strange..a few days ago a random man on the street spoke to me about the tree that makes a “noise” in the forest, just as Alan explains it.
