The lyrics of this song are so true .Alan is one of the best country artists out there.

At 72 years old, I've had a ton of friends scattered across this country. Most of them superficial. You may know the type---they shake your hand while pissing on your boots. The line from this song, " The older I get the fewer friends I have, but you don't need a lot, when the ones that you've got , always got your back", really hits me. I wished I had learned that lesson while I was much younger.

I heard a little joke about this one time it's not really funny not for everybody but it was said that a man knew he was dying and he told his wife put two duffle bags full of cash up in the attic so when I go to heaven I want to take them with me so she did then he died and after he died she went up in the attic and checked in both of the duffel bags were still there so she said I must have stuck them in the wrong place I should have stuck them in the basement

Alan is suffering a debilitating illness. It's hereditary. His grandfather & his father too both had this horrendous illness. Breaks my heart into pieces. He still wants to perform for as long as he can. Trust me, I didn't make this up. Please pray for Alan & his wife & beautiful daughters.I stared hearing Alan sing on my little clock radio years ago. Word is getting around b/c country stations are playing his songs like wildfire. I want to pray there may be a new treatment plan ASAP to help Alan.

Its a debilitating disease. I personally know someone with the same. Yes a cure will soon be discovered, we hope. He is such a talanted man with the voice of an Angel.. We played Precious Memories at our moms memorial service. Just beautiful.
