I was there, serving in Mosul, Iraq 2004, when I saw this wonderful man perform some great music for us. I will always remember how energetic and kind he was to us. He was the ONLY celebrity with the courage to visit us in a warzone while we were being attacked. Everyone else stayed in Kuwait, were there was zero chance of danger. I will always admire this man for his courage. Til Valhalla, Mr. Keith.

I lost my adult only daughter to ocular melanoma 15yrs ago She was so strong, never why me, never cried, made all her plans for the end by herself! GOD I miss my baby girl. She was given a 3% chance, but she never gave up! I've lost ALL my very best friends to cancer! I want to tell ANYONE that reads this ...... GOD is here for you & all you need do is pray & ask for help, feel it deep in your heart & soul then GOD will never turn his back on you! He loves us ALL. At one point in my life I had a brain tumor, pain so bad I prayed to die!!! I almost went blind. GOD came to me, at my lowest time, he gave be complete belief & the feelings I experienced are too amazing to even describe. The most strong beautiful thing that I've felt. No voice, but I knew what was happening. Trust in GOD!

People must think going home to heaven and being in heaven is a bad thing. Going to heaven should be celebrated if that's where your going. considering what you're leaving behind here, and the joy that awaits you there if your going there. The alternative of heaven is what people should be sad about when loved ones pass away. There's no joy or beauty at all in that place.

What an inspiration. Only with Jesus will we find that peace that passes all understanding. I know you are with Him now rejoicing in Heaven. No more pain, no more suffering. If you are reading this and you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior it is so simple. Jesus I believe that you died on the cross and rose again. Jesus come make your home inside my heart. Jesus will make his home in you. He said I will never leave you or forsake you. Your life will be forever changed. I am proof of that. Thank you Toby Keith for sharing your faith and I pray many come to Jesus through your testimony. Until we meet in Heaven we are all greater for knowing you.

My 40-year old uncle passed away from stomach cancer exactly one week after getting diagnosed! It was by far one of the most excruciatingly painful experience to watch, however, about two hours prior to his passing, his face lit up and he held his arms out and said “momma” with the biggest grin and tears streaming down his face. His mom passed when he was in his early twenties, and He was in a coma at this point so we knew exactly where he was headed after his passing! … RIP to a beloved legend and patriot, Toby Keith! You will be greatly missed!

As I listened to Toby sing Don’t Let the Old Man In. Took me back to my angel who fought everyday and never said why me. Your words touched my soul and I remember my daughter and her battle. God blessed me to be her caregiver and my pray was answered of being with her as she took her last breath. Her little body of 60 pounds was so frill. I miss her singing, her hugs, calling me mama, saying I love you. I would have traded my life for hers. Her journey is with our Heavenly Father, no more pain or scars! I would have enjoyed talking with Toby about his love of family, god and country. Blessings to his family.

@@ryangraham7012 In the Bible, the Apostle Paul said, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” When the thief was dying on the cross and asked Jesus to remember him, Jesus said he would be with him in paradise (heaven) that day. You said Jesus I’ll come back and judge us for our sins. That happens for unbelievers, who will then be condemned to a Christless eternity.. For believers, Jesus took the judgment for our sins, and so we will not be judged a second time. That payment has already been made. The Bible refers to a bema seat which is a judgment seat, but it is for believers, and God will not judge our sins at the bema seat. It will be where our works are weighed, and we will receive crowns for various things we did for Christ. It is true that our physical bodies won’t go to heaven until the rapture, but our spirits, that which makes us who we really are, immediately go to heaven or hell upon death. We also have the story of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). The Lazarus in that story is not Mary and Martha’s brother. We see from that story that when Lazarus died, he immediately went to Abraham’s bosom, which is a symbol of heaven. The rich man immediately went to a place of judgment. They were both very aware of where they were. I don’t believe it was a parable. I believe it was a real life happening.

I first met Toby in Las Cruces, NM. The band was "Easy Money". Not Toby Keith and Easy Money. It's when he was doing the $3K for 5 days gig, making a name. I worked in the bar he would swing by every couple months playing 5 days, Tues-Sat. The bar closed at 2 AM and the bar staff and the bands all hung around, BS'd and drank beer after the bar closed. We shared many a drink together with the band. I joined the military in 1991 and I heard/saw the video "Shouldv'e been a Cowboy" while I was in my training. The video was shot in "Cowboys", the bar I worked in. The girl in the stagecoach I dated once or twice. The 'cowboy' portion was shot in Aguirre Springs outside Las Cruces. I was so happy he he had finally broken through in Nashville! Fast forward to 2005.... I was in Bagdad, IQ deployed. Toby was doing his USO thing (he was incredible with that) and was just by himself with his guitarist playing at Al Fahwl Palace, entertaining troops. After he had played his set and was doing autographs, I approached him and just wanted to shake his hand. He actually remembered me and my first name. After ~15 years. Incredible. And an incredible person.

I'm 67 and have been battling cancer for a year now. Had surgery last June, so far, i hope, the worst might be over for now, for myself. My husband will be 66 in a week, was diagnosed last week with bone cancer. Today starts the beginning of his fight against it. We are lucky to live in a city that has 2 great hospitals with teams of doctors working on your case. They told him if he had been diagnosed 5 years ago there would not be a cure. I've seen Toby in concert 5 times, he was such a great songwriter with a unique sense of humor. On his more serious songs he poured his heart out in his music. I have always been more of a rocker but i just loved Toby, and Keith Urban as well. It's a very sad time losing Toby, may he RIP and feel no more pain. My heart goes out to his family, friends and fans. We mourn together the life of a man we all appreciated so much, i hope he knew how much he was loved.
