I want to thank you AJ for this song. My dad died in 2023 proceeding my mother in 2022. Well my dad loved this song. He used to sing this song on his karaoke machine. He wasn’t one for wanting much just to have a few beers relax with some friends, sing some songs and karaoke and this was one of them. Your song the older I get brought him great joy. I was lucky enough to record him, singing this song from start to finish, and it has become a treasure for me that I will never forget. So from my heart to yours.. This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there are some pain I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people.

When I was a kid we hung out with Alan Jackson all weekend at the Missouri State Fair. It was a year before he got real famous back in 1991. He played in a bud tent. My dad owned a pipeline business at the time and I remember him asking my dad if he could go to work on the pipeline because he didn't think he would make it in country music. My dad told him don't worry Alan, you're gonna make it. And my dad was right. Alan was very down to earth and one of the nicest guys you could meet.

This song is so true in saying the things of life as we get older. I am 71 now and married to my lovely wife of now 50 years. She is my right arm of which I could never live without. I love my kids and grandchildren more than all the money in the world. My health is not that good but I thank God for every minute he gives me. Life goes by so fast - don't take anything for granted. Ma'am Alan Jackson in my opinion is one of the best I've ever heard come across the radio. I remember going to the hunting camp with daddy when i was a boy early in the morning and hearing "Chasing that neon rainbow" my dad was killed few years later in a freak accident. Im now 39 years old and to this day when i hear that song it puts me back in that seat beside him headed up 17 to Needham, Al. I wish i could change a few things about my life.. Life for me has been less than spectacular as since dads accident im scared to love in fear of loss. Scared to death of the horrific just unexplainable world of hurt thats possible in case of unexpected loss of life or relationship. Your comment caught my attention for sure. Life truly teaches us alot, I grew up on a small impoverished island in Uganda, but I as a young man, I had big dreams, as I grow older am 37 years now. This song becomes my anthem, thank you Allan Jackson.

What neurological disease? I didn't know! I had a ruptured brain aneurysm in 2012 and it took 9 brain surgeries to fix it. It's hereditary in my family. I was clinically dead for 6 minutes and was resuscitated and spent time in a coma on life support. I will never take a single second of my life for granted ever again. 12 years later I'm blessed to still be here. I was only 48 when I had the brain hemmorage and I'll be 60 next month. And I'm thankful! Not everyone has the chance to get old so cherish every moment you get. I consider this the greatest blessing of my life because it's what made me believe in God!! So blessed!!!!❤🙏✝️

@Alan Jackson Been a fan about 12 years. I didn't like country music until my husband and I joined a band. We're The Backroom Band in Mobile, AL. He's 81 and has been practicing this one to try it with our band. We play at nursing homes, cancer/diabetes/walks. We like to play music and spend some time spreading our joy with others who don't get out much. I'm a contry music fan now. I play keyboard, sing Patsy Cline, Adele and more. I love this song. It's so true. We've been married 41 years, getting to those older years.

I lost my dad last year to cancer, but one thing he was careful to teach me and my siblings was to be thankful for what you have, set a positive example for others, and pay it forward. This song made me think of those lessons, thank you.

Vetus.let me explain.i sang and played guitar for forty years. Hade a stroke lost the abilities to sing.. play ..record.you have it so correct..who cares.that statment keeps me trying to keep going. You encouraged me .thanks.keep uo the ainging.

If I listened real good to this in my younger years it wouldnt have the meaning it has to me today. The years flying by, people change, family means nothing to them. They burned their bridges. I continue to pray for them because God has the power to save them. Wake up. He gave me the strength to walk away from it because it can make a person sick. God sees it all people.

I was listening to this song when I was on my knees, crying for my mom’s health. I was devastated because she has cancer and wasn’t doing well at all. God talked to me through this praise, and when I opened the Bible, it was Psalms 27. God confirmed that we should just wait on Him. We still need a miracle, but now we have faith and praise while we wait! My mom is a woman who follows our Lord’s words, and I ask you to pray for her health as well. Her name is Maria Juracy and she has a serious Lymphoma.

The older I get, the more thankful I am. For my wife of 36 years, both of my daughters, my son, 8 granddaughters, 1 grandson and a soon to be great granddaughter. For some reason this song has hit me hard and has brought back so many memories of good times past! Keep putting out this king of music Mr. Jackson!

Funny how things works. When I left my dad's house, it was then I started to listen to country music. Country music always reminds me of the good times I had with my father. Today, I love country music. Thank you again for your response!

Damn shame we can't get music like this on radio. Leave it country radio to praise the legends when they die, but ignore them while they're still here.

So true. This song didn't even chart on the airplay charts, and they won't play George Strait's new stuff either. Country music is really just like every other industry. They love you and treat you like royalty when you're on top, but once your time is up, you're dirt to them.
