Am 40 I feel like crying it super nice song, there is nothing in this life , the older I get the more I pray
I remember how I found this song. I was sat in the back of my grandads car, listening to BBC radio Lancashires country set on a Sunday from 2pm, I was so taken a back emotionally by what I was hearing that I started uncontrollably welling up and before I knew it, I was crying. I tried to hide it, but I couldn't. My grandad thought I was upset over something but I was just so touched by the song I couldn't help it. I love it more and more each time I listen to it.

I'm on the opposite side of life, Katie Beavers. I'm 82. I discovered this song a year ago. I Cannot listen to this song, which I enjoy immensely, without tears. Most of the Lyrics of this song seem to fit my life, so well. It reminds me that I'm so Overly Blessed. Every time I listen to this song, I want to move on to his Gospel Songs but, I get stuck on this one. There Must be a way of playing it in a Loop, as I used to do with something that I really liked. As it is now, i continue to go back and hit the replay button. Katie, you need to tell your Grandad, how you feel about this song. There's a good chance that he feels the same, or similar. If it's too emotional to say the words write them down, and give them to him, when you feel like it. He should treasure your note, letter.
Somewhere back on the road, this song got lost. Without a doubt, a top hit of Alan Jackson's. At 71; I think about my own mortality, the miracles I've experienced and the blessings I've recieved. The people along my journey and how they are slowly passing on. This song is my song. Me being thankful I guess. One of the greatest things I've been given is the ability to Forgive some and accept them as they are. That has set me free.

It is always good to remain grateful as Alan Jackson says " the older i get the longer i pray- the more thankful i feel...." This old age is inevitable on anyone that lives longer. Lets remain grateful to the creator of heaven and earth.
This song resonates with me. I was blessed with three amazing kids and loving, supportive husband. The older I get I look back at life and I know I have lived and still living a wonderful life❤

This has so much meaning to me now, memories of my life of 60 years together with my wife. She's been gone two years now and this song makes me realize I must go on as I get older and try to make the rest of my life as good as the first 60.

The older I get The more I think You only get a minute, better live while you’re in it'Cause it’s gone in a blink And the older I get The truer it is It’s the people you love, not the money and stuff That makes you rich [Chorus] And if they found a fountain of youth I wouldn’t drink a drop and that’s the truth Funny how it feels I’m just getting to my best years yet [Verse 2] The older I get The fewer friends I have But you don’t need a lot when the ones that you got Have always got your back And the older I get The better I am At knowing when to give And when to just not give a damn [Chorus] And if they found a fountain of youth I wouldn’t drink a drop and that’s the truth Funny how it feels I’m just getting to my best years yet The older I get[Instrumental][Bridge]And I don’t mind all the lines From all the times I’ve laughed and cried Souvenirs and little signs of the life I’ve lived The older I get The longer I pray I don’t know why, I guess that I Got more to say And the older I get The more thankful I feel For the life I’ve had, and all the life I’m living still

Zach plott Please hold those friends very tight for some true friends are by far better than so called family members. Sometimes when you find yourself in an unpleasant situation hoping your family got your back you will be lucky to get a phone call from them. You don't see them at all. That's why true friends are much much better than some family.
