What an amazing artist...as great today as he's always been! His family is very special to him...such a great example to all of us! His love of GOD, is amazing to see! Such a beautiful song about grief. My heart aches for his daughter losing her husband in a tragic accident and him losing his son in law. I cry everytime I listen to this song. I too know what grief feels like as I lost my younger brother who was my best friend in a tragic accident recently. I wish this pain upon nobody. I don't know his daughter but I pray for her as she embarks on a life long journey of grief.

Baffling how this isn't recognized by the radio stations... Should be a #1-Hit in my opinion.
How can people put thumbs down on this song???? It's a song that's ment to take you there and make you feel, become a part of the story to feel the hurt, happy, good and bad that's the magic of an amazing songwriter and artist to be able to carry you from your boring life and escape into the story for just the short span of under 4min and connect your soul to the soul who's telling you the story so you feel every bit as they do as they tell it.

This song truly hits home for me.My daughters first husband died 9 months into their marriage and it was beyond devastating.She held on to her faith in God and found the strength to endure her loss.Without His good graces and tender mercies,none of us would have made it through.What a heartfelt and genuine display this song is about healing.It will touch the hearts and souls of so many.

Of course Dani Grace. This man is AMAZING. Especially because I got some Christmas cards from him Valentine's Day cards and a Get Well card from the man himself.
Thankyou Alan and Mattie for sharing this story, those that have lost love ones will truly understand. My wife died last May at 52years old just as we downsized to prepare for our retirement that was only few more years away, now I ask God show me why he took love of my life. Beautiful song

What a beautiful song, written with love for his daughter and her changing life since the loss of her young husband,. I am waiting impatiently for Mattie's book. I preordered it the day it was offered. Alan Jackson has a rare talent for writing songs that are TRULY country at it's best. We can feel his heart in special songs and we know he puts his whole hurting heart into songs like this. I'm also remembering "Sissy's song" and the comforting words in it to her friends and family. My deepest condolences for Mr Jackson's daughter and their family. I have lived all but the death of my ex . Leaving and having to deal with the memories all the way down to the coming back and having to make peace with things and coming to an understanding of why God has put me here to go through all that I have. Again I can't thank you both enough for writing the song I couldn't put into words. Very eloquently written and sung.

May God continue to help you heal. I really have no words - as I haven't experienced this type of loss. But I've been an Alan Jackson fan since the beginning and know the family has great faith in God. I've seen Mattie on talk shows talking about this loss - and recognize that the response to a great tragedy is becoming more and more positive.
