I could be wrong but pretty sure St. Ides stopped making beer under that name in the 90s. Steel Reserve was their replacement. Steel Reserve is much worse. Not sure if St. Ides has made a comeback or whatever, but it was better than SR.

Former consistent 211 consumer. I offered it to ppl all the time. Some would say, im not drinking that mess,I have to work tomorrow. Or im not going through nothing rn, I don't need it. Old men would reaction with some kind of sound when i got in line to buy. A grunt of disapproval and to let me know it's harsh.

That 211 reserve was the catalyst to many nights of black outs in my poor days.

A couple 40's of colt 45 a big bag of greasy fast food and a good flick playing on the tube that's a gooder n hell Saturday right there boy

I LOVE Mickey's!!!! Came from LA and now in Texas. Can be hard to find but it's cheap and will get you lit! Mickey Grenades w/ the Pictogram lids are always fun at a get together

In my younger days, when it came to 40’s, the only ones that mattered were 2/11 Steel Reserve and OE. 8.1 and 7.5 abv on each of those. Scrape together $2.50, then you could get drunk. I bet I’d get a fever and and headache halfway through those now if I tried to drink em

PSA to anyone wanting to try these. Dont drink the whole thing as you will have the worst hangover and the screaming shits the next day. You will have a great time drinking them 7/10 recommend.

I was polishing a 42 of steel reserve every day during the pandi for MONTHS. Crazy when it loses effect. I've drank 2 in a day before. After my tolerance went back to normal I couldn't finish 1.

That Colt 45 this right here is a 1990s classic I'm from Detroit Michigan and yes this right here this out of all of them I remember watching my uncle's drink these and giving me some sips good times back when America was really American. back on the US dollar was really a US dollar

Steel Reserve High Gravity is actually really crushable considering

In the mid 70's we had a bar with live bands and Fallstaff draft pitchers for only $1. Lot's of cheap good drinking nights that I can't remember!

Mickey's was a favorite here in Ohio when I was growing up 40+ years ago. Mickey's Malt Liquor gets you there quicker! The wide mouth 12 ounce bottles were great because if you HAD TO you could down one at a red light. If you had to, lol.

Mickey's man that stuff is awesome one of the first 12 packs I ever bought . Me and my mother of all people would love it.

Mickeys and St. Ides were my 40’s as a teen I’d buy in Detroit underage and bring back to suburbia. Crazy Horse was good too, but they stopped making it. Good times

As a Michigan asian, Mickey's and Steely's were college for me.

I'm a 45 year old white guy from the Texas Panhandle and when I drink beer it's only Mickey's. Hint.......try lemon or lime salt in it. Watch out for the foam!

Here in Southern California, I used to drink the Mickeys 64's back in the good ole days.

The line “I ain’t drank 40s since I’ve been old enough to drink”, perfectly describes my 40 experience lol

I drank about 100 Mickeys forties in my late teens, because of House of Pain.

Mickeys was a staple in WV. The old school big mouth bottle with pull away tabs were the best.

Mickeys enthusiast here! From AZ. We would drink Mickeys while we ate long wongs hot wings and then finished everything off with a blunt of Reggie’s. We were teenagers and we had to pay day workers to buy them for us lol. One of the best times of my life.

I can get Mickey's in my little small Southwest Georgia town of Dawson ,GA. Always liked them.

Had no idea so many others love or loved Mickeys. I still drink it in 40z to this day.

Mickey's grenades were the shit with the puzzles! Week nights in college would be a six of grenades and bag of pork rinds. But yeah you should try Schlitz (the blue bull) and Olde English, I haven't drank a 40 in years but Schlitz was my go to for awhile. Steel Reserve was for nights you wanted to forget, those get pretty rough by the end. I seem to remember them being a higher ABV in my state back in the day.

Up here a yonder in the PNW it was good ol Rainier Beer, Mickeys, OE and Panther Ice…. Yep, Panther.

We get Mickeys here in Aurora, Colorado! I always remembered it had a skunky smell and for sure had that typical green bottle taste! Old English is the only one missing that I would have like to see him try, especially over the 32 oz BS!
