Alabama Boss Goes South Of The Border For Mexican Imports Part 2 | Craft Brew Review
Alabama Boss here, back with another round of my ever-exciting beer tastin' extravaganza! Now, this time, we're crossing that border and taking a deep dive into the world of Mexican Imports. Yeah, that's right, we're talking about Mexican beers - all that crisp, cool, and sometimes fruity goodness that's makin' waves in our craft brew scene.
Mexican Imports ain't just your regular old beers, folks. Each one's got its own character, its own story. And just like always, I'm here to tell it like it is. From Dos Equis, that smooth-sippin' classic, to the odd but intriguing Vicky Chamoy, we're leavin' no beer untasted.
Y'all know I'm not one to hold back. I'll let you know what's a 'pontoon beer', and which brew might just be your new best friend at the grill. Heck, we're even gonna tackle some of those new kids on the block - those brews that just landed in our world of Mexican Imports.
So strap in, grab a cold one, and join me on this beer-venturous journey south of the border. I promise it's gonna be one hell of a ride. And remember, folks, if you're liking what you're hearin, don't forget to hit that subscribe button. That way, you ain't missing out on any of the action. Here's to great beers, good times, and the magic of Mexican Imports. Cheers, y'all!

@@Carlos113ese micheladas always have beer in it... there's also cheladas.. which don't have the full mix of spices chile etc just green Lemon... (lime in USA) and salt . you can also ask for an "ojo rojo" (red eye) that is basically the same mix as a Michelada + tomato juice but with Vodka, white tequila or beer. and in northern Mexico Like Monterrey "ojo rojo "with beer it's called Clamato as the brand of tomato juice. they go with a good ceviche or sea food in general, and ojo rojos , cheladas and micheladas are usually for a hot day or when you are hangover to wash down the fish tacos. about that "Vicky Chamoy" i think is BS.. i dont know anyone in Mexico who drinks that.

That viky chamoy is pretty much what we call a michelada, which is a mix cocktail having as main ingredients beer, tomato sauce, lemon, salt and mix of black sauces, also possibly many other ingredients to make it spicy. That is basically for people that don’t like the taste of a beer or if you want to taste something different you can add a lot of ice and drink it in the beach.

The Corona Familiar are Mexico’s flagship beer. Then, we only could get those in 32oz, but due to popular demand, they started releasing them in tall cans, and longnecks. In Mexico, you could buy a 40oz Corona Familiar. Lots of people that go to Mexico bring those over from there because we do not have 40ozers here, but the popularity of the Corona Familiar is what makes that beer so special from the regular Corona Extra

Ingredients For the Pretzels: 1 1/2 cups (6 3/8 ounces) unbleached all-purpose flour 1 1/2 cups (6 3/8 ounces) bread flour 1 teaspoon instant yeast (not active dry or rapid-rise) 2 teaspoons packed light brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 1 cup warm water Cooking spray or vegetable oil For the Poaching Liquid: 8 cups (2 quarts) water 1/2 cup baked soda 1/4 cup (1 7/8 ounces) packed light brown sugar For the Topping: 1 large egg 1 tablespoon water 2 tablespoons pretzel salt or coarse sea salt Directions For the Pretzels: Stir the flours, yeast, brown sugar, and salt together in a large bowl, then stir in the warm water until a shaggy dough forms. (The water should feel as warm as a hot bath or Jacuzzi-not lukewarm but not boiling, either.) Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes. The dough should feel smooth and satiny. Spritz a large, clean bowl with cooking spray or grease lightly with vegetable oil. Place the dough ball in the bowl and cover with a spritzed or greased piece of plastic wrap. Let rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Transfer the dough to a clean, unfloured surface and divide into 24 pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 9 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. Line up the ropes on the baking sheets and cover loosely with spritzed or greased plastic wrap. Let rise for another 30 minutes. For the Poaching Liquid: Preheat the oven to 375°F (180°C) and prepare the poaching liquid. Bring 8 cups of water to a simmer in a large, wide saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add baked soda and brown sugar and stir until dissolved. The water will foam slightly. Gently drop the dough ropes into the simmering water, a few at a time, and poach for 15 seconds. Remove the ropes gently using tongs, a slotted spoon, or a metal skimmer and return them to the baking sheets. For the Topping: Whisk together egg and water to form egg wash. Brush ropes with egg wash and sprinkle with pretzel salt or sea salt. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until fully hardened, dark brown, and glossy, checking every few minutes after 30 minutes; switch the sheets between top and bottom racks halfway through. Transfer the baked pretzels to a wire rack and let cool completely before serving. Store the pretzels at room temperature in an airtight container for up to a week.

@@Gabe1sttYou Luke Vickey Chamoy? Gross, it's on the verge of being discontinued here in Mexico. That original comment is is the popular voice of Mexicans. There is a margin of error, of course, you.
Here's a simple pretzel recipe that you can try: Ingredients: - 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour - 1 teaspoon salt - 1 teaspoon sugar - 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast - 1 cup warm water - 2 tablespoons baking soda - Coarse salt (for topping) - 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional) Instructions: 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast. 2. Gradually add warm water to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. 3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes or until it becomes smooth and elastic. 4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size. 5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 6. Punch down the dough to release any air bubbles. Divide it into 8 equal pieces. 7. Roll each piece into a long rope, about 20 inches (50 cm) long, and twist into pretzel shapes. 8. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the baking soda. Boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds on each side, then transfer them to the prepared baking sheet. 9. Sprinkle coarse salt on top of the pretzels. 10. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the pretzels turn golden brown. 11. Optional: Brush melted butter over the pretzels as soon as they come out of the oven for added flavor. 12. Allow the pretzels to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy! Note: Feel free to get creative with your pretzels by adding toppings like sesame seeds, cinnamon sugar, or cheese before baking. Happy baking!

“Estrella Jalisco” is brewed in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. It’s an Anheuser-Bush product. I live in Mexico and I'm glad you made a second part of mexican beer, and as beer drinker I liked it even before I watch it. I also have to mention, that some of mexican beer brands make some version of beers that are only available in the USA, but not in Mexico. Let start with the vicky. Victoria made those "vicky's" which basically is a mix of beer with other ingridents, like the brand "cerveza sol" the made something call "Clamato" its not to get drunk and they might not for everyone, but on my experience, if you have a bad hangover and you drink one or two of those, it will "cure it" and you can start drinking all over again. About the modelo chelada I havent try it, I would guest its the same. I have not tried Estrella Jalisco, because that is a beer made in the state of Jalisco (some states have their own beer), and I have not seen it in my state, but beside the Estrella Jalisco, dos equis and corona that you tried are good. And Corona Familiar, it the samething as the regular corona, the "Familiar" it just the larger size and yes, its a beach/pool beer

Orale homie 😎🇲🇽💚🤍❤️🐓🌶️🥑🌮🫔⚽🥊👍🏽👊🏽💯🔥‼️
Man you are brave drinking that Vicky Chamoy beer - I wouldn’t put that next to modelo, xx or Estrella Jalisco 🙌🏻
Bohemia is a great Mexican beer that you should try!
I wanna try estrella now. Nice review
Ive been waiting for THIS VIDEO!!!!
Pour that Vicky’s in one of those styrofoam chilly brim cups from the corner store 😂
Probably slightly unfair to compare a 'Chelada-style beer among other regular beers. They are a bit of an acquired taste, but some similar, 'bloody beers' aren't too bad, traditionally served over ice and be kind of refreshing on a hot day.
It would have been better if y'all gave him some better beers to drink like Modelo Especial, Carta Blanca, tecate light, bohemia, and indio.

damn, I was going to say, Am I an alcoholic for watching beer review videos at nine in the morning, and then you go and say it was 9am when you were recording.
Hey Boss man ,! Mexican in Texas here , Estrella Jalisco is what I like to drink when I go to the River with the Fam
Victoria makes a good beer without fruit. Fruit is no bueno.

That Vicky Chamoy is a canned pre-made version of a popular cocktail, but people don't reall mix it. The fruit pulp is kept outside the glass, with a sprinkle of salt and chili pepper.
never thought there would be a part two to this! lol...Vicky Chamoy is actually a very good beer specially if you live in Texas with those extreme heats and very long summers

I don’t drink Cheladas much but I do when I’m hung over and that’s where that Vicky beer would come into play.
Ain't you the guy that peeled the Modelo? That was the funniest thing ever😂...Modelo familiar in the bottle is nice.

Maybe... maybe not...
Any Mexican beer with spices added is usually a morning beer to get past the hangover
Chamoy and chelada beer I don’t think should go with the other beers you tried they are completely different in my opinion( I’m Mexican). If you do a part 3 try getting carta blanca caguamita, indio or modelo negra 👌🏼 great video! 😂 keep it up 👍🏼
