Al you thought you were so great just because you could hit a moonsault. If you were wrestling today, you'd be doing what you always did. Lying on your back, counting the lights, doing the J.O.B. Pin you, pay you.

Found the dumb ass AEW mark. Do yourself a favor and kiss Tony 'the cokehead mark with a billionaire daddy' Khan's ass some more. Fans like you are the dumbest kind of wrestling fans and really bring a bad reputation to the business, not that it's been damaged enough by Tony the mark and AEW already. Most of the roster couldn't tie Al's bootlaces to save their life.

This was a shit show for a high chance of injury. Poor stability on the ladder, then the tables can't take the full impact, since the legs are on a weak surface, sliding and shit. @@codesm96 I’d say the AEW lockeroom needs to put a stop to this. Jericho and Omega need to get the boys together and say enough is enough, no more extreme risks multiple times a night when it’s not even a ppv. No more praying at the alter of meltzer. If they don’t it’s only a matter of time before someone else suffers another life altering injury or worse.

I agree with everything snow said. However even in the scenario he gives where in desperation he wants to basically take Dante out of the match, doing a Canadian destroyer off the ladder to the outside through 4 tables was a ridiculous spot to try and pull off. Dante’s lucky it was his leg that snapped because if he’d have hit the tables before rotating and landed on his head when they hit the floor it could been even worse

Al voiced the same sentiments I had toward the spot. It was completely unnecessary for the 'plot' of the match. THE ONLY thing I could see justifying it is that Top Flight looked closed to winning at a couple points. It was done for the pop of the crowd. Neither wrestler is at fault for this. I've seen Penta pull of spectacular moves throughout his career and to my knowledge has never hurt anyone. Dante just overshot the table(s) by a small bit and used his legs to catch his fall instead of the tables cushioning the drop.

Completely agree with the belt grab thing. That's something that's missing in wrestling alot today. These guys do a lot of cold "spots" and finishes. Reminds me of starks vs Sammy recently, Sammy won with a roll up, there was no build up what so ever to that finish and it was so cold it killed the match they had. There was no wrestling exchanges and a build up of the lucky pin and there was no finisher struggle to build up the "pin him any means necessary" angle. These guys don't build up their finishes at all.

I agree with about 98% of what Al says here, but there is one thing that's "iffy" and that's him saying you can't hold the producer or agent responsible. If the producer is the one who told them to do the spot, I say you can 100% hold them responsible. If they DIDN'T, then no, you can't hold them responsible. If my boss told me to do something and I did it, but it didn't pan out the way they wanted it to, that's not on me for doing it, that's on my boss for telling me to do it. Now if I did something that my boss didn't okay first and it didn't pan out, then that's on me.

I don't think I've ever had an injury in wrestling absolutely infuriate me the way this one did. Dante was extremely green, but with his athleticism, he had something special. He had something you cannot teach, and something you cannot replace. With enough time and the proper training he could have had a great career in the wrestling business. That's gone now, because with this injury, he will never be the same. This stupid stunt will follow him for the rest of his life. All Tony Khan had to do was put him with some responsible professionals who could teach him how to use his gift, but instead he put him with some indie jerk offs that talked him into doing something stupid. Dante may wrestle again, but his potential is gone. I hold Tony Khan responsible for that, along with pentagon. He's been in the business long enough to know better than to do stupid s*** like that

Really i think it was more like 'whyd u put them tables there just to not use them?' Type of issue or question that got asked at that point in the match, more than just taking a high risk for no real reason but wanting it to look cool. U can sorta see pentagon seems to call the spot seeing the unused tables. It was rushed, prolly called on the spot, and prolly improvised based solely off 'hey we still got these tables they set up, itll confuse and or annoy some of the audience the fact they were not used, so lets use them now n then wrap up.'

One of the best matches I had seen in years was on RAW between Shawn Michaels and Shelton Benjamin. No high risk stuff, just a damn good wrestling match. I would rather see a match like that than one that’s all bloody and full of the floppy high risk shit any day!

it was so unfortunate... AEW has talented wrestlers and all the things needed to be successful but they are sorely wrestling psychology. They seem to be more focused on big flashy moves and not telling a story. If they could figure out how to continue to tell the story in the ring (you can still do the moves just in a way that makes sense to the story) AEW could be so huge. The biggest bummer to me is I LOVE the Lucha Bros. They are so talented. I've had a gruesome ankle injury myself and can tell you it took me well over a year to heal and 3 weeks after being "cleared" it blew out again just walking down the stairs and was another year and a half journey. That was 10 years ago and it still hurts today.

Shawn Michael's did a splash on Ramone at WM 10 off the ladder - but some how it worked - because Michaels was the show stopper and the arrogant heel in the match - so for that moment it paid off - performers are doing it so much today , that it means nothing and goes against the concept of winning. Lesnar did the 4.50 splash at WM 19 on Angle - these spots are special once in a while although dangerous. but today's wrestling is a series spot fests.
