Akkadian Numbers

In this video, we will be introduced to Akkadian (and Sumerian numbers). I apologize for the video being only available in standard definition.
(This is an old video from my Akkadian language course.)

The es(e)ret stood out to me like "yod" in Aramaic and Hebrew. Another cool video.

Can you make a video about the Syriac manuscripts, the scientific ones, like math, astronomy and medicine etc. I searched, but I couldn’t find any, why? what could be the case, even though languages like Hebrew have many books in the field of science.

The transliterations show no glottal/pharyngeal stops. Is that the way Akkadian sounded?

Well, it is difficult to know with certainty. There is evidence that suggests it may have and that it may not have... so it is inconclusive. The Sumerian writing system that is used to write Akkadian does not have glottal or pharyngeal stops, so we are limited to the writing system they use. Interestingly, Modern Assyrian (Northeastern Neo-Aramaic) does not pronounce these either.

Thanks alot for these historic informations. Akkadian, Aramic, assyrian, all are semitic accents of arabic language which were spoken in old times in al jezeera (Saudi Arabia) and evolved with time. semitic means that it came from Sam son of Noah how lived in al jezeera. Arabic language have about 12.3 million ward.

Totally wrong. They were spoken in Mesopotamia where Ninevia, Babilon etc are. And they are much closer to Hebrew than to Arabic. Also Noah and Shem lived in Mesopotamia as well.

Totally Rong to , The original language culture people empire in masotimpia Akkadian cilvithon (Agad) the Are come From north desert Assyr Paddy. Syria, the Fertile Crescent... everyone had dark skin, and there were the sons of Shem and Ham... Elam, Akkad, and the Amorites, the Babylonians and Assyrians... the Akkadian mother tongue branched out. Including Assyrian and Babylonian When they went to the desert, they were the only ones who preserved the language before their names, Arabs, because of Wadi Araba in Jordan After that, the Aryans, Kurds, Armenians, and Arameans came from the north, from the direction of Turkey, the Zarak Mountains, Greece, and Europe. The mother Akkadian language was affected by new terminology and also the lack of pronunciation of some letters.. exactly like now, everyone. He speaks Arabic... but Egypt is different from Iraq, and Morocco is different from Yemen and Syria... but its origin and the known language are from the Hijaz and Wadi Araba. So everyone speaks Arabic and does not speak Aramaic or Hebrew because. mixed ..
