Occasionally, something unexpectedly leaves a mark in your soul. The harmony in the last chorus picks me out of place, puts me somewhere old, deep.

I’ve been listening to AJ since she was little and she has become an amazing talent. Her voice has always been pure gold.

Same here. I swear as far back as the mid-2000s, but I can't find any of those old vids anymore. It was pure gold then and is nothing if not purer now.

This band, these vocals, her vocals. Unbelievable.

I think there isn't a day when I don't listen to Blue Summit. AJ Lee has the right to be proud of her band .their music speaks for itself

The most beautiful lead vocal on this song that I have ever heard. Gorgeous fiddle and so much overall feeling. I love this.

Found AJ Lee this morning and I'm stunned by her voice! Her rendition of Harvest Moon brought tears to my eyes for the beauty of her style! Need to hear much more from this talented woman!

Sully is one of those Tuttles.

A J's phrasing is just phenomenal and the rest of the band are so talented. Their sound balance is always so well put together, they must practice a lot to sound so impressively together. Fabulous.

I have watched A.J grow and she certainly nailed it here. Beautiful! 🎶👏

I've been listening to AJ and Blue Summit for a while now but the quality of this production and in particular the vocal quality, tops everything

Beautiful, haunting voice, wow.

So good .Compliments to the guys who sing in the chorus to lift the song beyond the ordinary . And of course the solo singing and sensitive instrumentation set it off beautifully .Pakipaki kia koutou !

The perfection of this has left me speechless.

Dang! Remember watching AJ and Molly playing together when they were 'tweens' at the Kings River Bluegrass Festival waaaaaaaay back in the day!

Miracles sometimes come from odd places and circumstances Take, for instance, some of the best Bluegrass originating in the brown hills of California. These folks have gone from really good to really great and all those who preceeded them in the genre have to be extremely proud.

It takes true talent to cover someone else’s song and own it in this way. Y’all have done this several times. Cumberland Blues, With Body and Soul, and Who Walks In are just a few to name. And Sully Tuttle, Wow! What a beautiful solo. It’s so perfect it sounds like it was composed. Also AJ’s voice is a blessing to anyone who is fortunate enough to have listened. Love the finger style guitar Scott. And Jan, you’re my favorite fiddler ever.

No shade to anyone, but since they added Scott Gates their trajectory has been elevated. He was the missing link. They all shine brightly. Jan's fiddle playing is so freakin' tasty...

It's hard to beat Patty Loveless on this. I am definitely biased. But, AJ did a great cover, as usual..

I think I like that better than Patty's version!

I like what these guys do with this tune musically, but I don't understand why so many bands that cover this song go with the shortcut lyrics in verse two. I don't which coverer made the alternate lyrics up in the first place or why, but they make no sense. If he already crossed the mountains, he wouldn't need to walk out of the hollow. And he didn't ask some pretty girl to be his bride, he asked Tillie Helton. Why write her out of the narrative? It's not like it's a super-difficult verse to get right.

Pretty girl instead of Tellie Helton, and Cumberland Mountains instead of Katahrins Mountain. These small changes make the song easier understood by those less familiar with eastern Kentucky, Black Mountain and coal mining topography. He comes down the mountain to the holler and wants to take her away. Either way, a fabulous tune.

Eat your heart out Patty Loveless.

Very nice, but why not just listen to the original? Some songs do not need to be remade.
