Came across AJ and Brothers Comatose singing "Harvest Moon" on KZread about 6 months ago. Can't stop watching, listening to her. Crazy-skilled mandolinist and pure-voiced singer. Reminds me of early Linda Ronstadt, whom I saw in concert in 1973. The only concert I ever saw where the boys were fainting instead of the girls. Yup.

My wife and I got hooked the same way. Because of her I’m a fan of Molly Tuttle and Billy Strings too. Linda Rhonstadt is one of my favorites too along with the Beatles. AJ Lee and Blue Summit have quickly become one of my favorites too.

Remembering a weekend when baby AJ, my 3 month old and company at Campalot stayed to play music after the Strawberry 🍓 music ended... That night some amazing Japanese pickers, Prairie Flower, Cactus Bob,😊 Sara Elizabeth Campbell, and many others played on into the wee morning hours, perhaps aiding the Eastern Virtuosos' jet lag... Fast forward two decades and I'm telling my musical trombone tooting kid about AJ Lee. Collegiate kid says, "Mom! We grew up together at Strawberry? Playing in the birdseed and doing art projects with the Strawberry Kids down at the lake? You know where they have the revival?" Soundtrack: Japanese bluegrass players...

Chris Stapleton would be proud

At the Parkfield Bluegrass Festival I attended a banjo workshop with Geg Cahill and two California banjo players. During discussion of technique, Greg said "no matter what, you con only play one note at a time. Except maybe for Sully."

Just discovered this outfit, they got it going on.

I stumbled across AJ Lee yesterday while skimming through KZread and was shocked that I had never heard of her. Especially since I lived for many years in Sonoma. I spent the rest of the day listening to everything I could find of her and Blue Summit. I am forever now a fan.

This song was actually written mainly by Mike Henderson, co-written by Chris Stapleton, first recorded by the Steeldrivers. Henderson sold the rights to the song to Adele, who has recorded it several times for release.
