@@mrabuilders6723 hello buddy, I am a shift manager at our beloved Wetherspoon’s. But I do the night shift as we have a hotel. I bought a renovation project 5 years ago that’s in a hell of a state but only chance I had at owning. So I’ve watched endless content, such as yours, to learn. I’m slowly giving it a go on my own gaff when I get in from work most days. This is tiring as you can imagine so some days I just sleep haha. Even filmed loads of stuff so was going to make my own channel in future once I get around to editing it. Thank you for the continued amazing content to help me and others learn mate 👍🏼

in the extractor fans you should have had two non return vents when the fan is on in the toilet it will vent into the utility room

You should put in a y type tee instead of o square one this will make a big difference to the air flow.

I wondered this too, you don't want the loo blowing into the utility. Perhaps the utility fan unit will have a non return valve built in?

Great video Adam. Just a thought, why not bring the toilet waste out vertically and then use a 45 to connect into the main soil pipe? It would then match the rain water from the roof. I’m sure there is some regulation that says you can’t but thought I’d ask. Keep up the good work 👍

We had a conversation on site last week about Carpenters who reckon they never fu*ked a door up & the unanimous verdict was they are full of sh*t. I been a Carpenter & Joiner for 37yrs & there's not much I not done to a door over the years, hinge chopped wrong side of line, swung wrong way, hung upside down 🥴 Any builder or carpenter who says they not screwed something up either hasn't actually done much or is lying. Full credit for showing the mistakes in your vids, lots of KZreadrs edit all that out to make out they are perfect when in reality they are being dishonest/deceptive.

The ducting described carries the risk that when the internal toilet is in use the smelly vent will discharge into the utility room as it is less resistive than flowing all the way to the outside. There needs to be a backdraught shutter in the utility fan, or better still two systems. Also, to ensure proper flow and so as to minimise noise, there needs to be turning vanes in the straight duct to direct the branch duct air flow.. i have never understood why there is a modern fixation with paint spraying for small domestic premises because the amount of masking up that has to be carried out for a proper job takes so long that a skilled decorator will have painted the walls and ceiling in the same time and then there is all the cleaning down..... In my experience where contractors have used spray painting on small roomed premises the decorators ends up spending far too much time cleaning off over spray. On one job the overspray in the dining room took 3 days to clean down and repaint the glosswork, when a skilled decorator would have rollered the paint on and cut in around the glosswork within an hour. I suspect the attraction for using spray paint lies in using unskilled labour for painting and the fallacy that you can achieve vehicle like quality (all the gear and no idea!). Spray painting has its place when painting large simple spaces like industrial sheds.

I have the same Wagner sprayer as you and have a couple of points which might be useful: You are right about spitting when using an extension. You might consider getting a Graco CleanShot which bolts on to the tip end of the extension. It has an internal adjustable spring which cuts off the flow of paint when you release the trigger. I have one and always use it with any length extension. Your comment about the whip hose was interesting. I find I have to wrestle with the 15m Wagner hose and it can be a nightmare in narrow halls. However, the threads on both ends of the Wagner hose is unique to Wagner and they confirmed this to me. This means that you can only connect a Wagner hose to the Wagner machine and only connect a Wagner gun to a Wagner hose. I was about to say that you can’t get a whip hose to connect to a Wagner hose but checked and discovered that they are now available in various lengths - I’ll be ordering one pronto! For completeness, you can connect e.g. Graco extensions, tips and guards to a Wagner gun. I learned a lot from the Idaho painter but there are a number of UK outlets that now offer a complete range of equipment. I can send you some links of you like. Many thanks for posting the video and best wishes, Rob

Don’t bother with a short whip, go for the 1.8m one from Spray Equipment Supplies, not only does it protect the main hose, it also reduces wrist strain as it moves more easily. Trade Tip holder opens up the range of tips you can use including FF (fine finish) for architraves and skirtings. 👍

  • @jonathanhasmail

I’m a lowly DIYer so probably not the right person to ask. My best success has come from using a low tack tape or the plastic with tape attached on the emulsion which has had a couple of days to dry and removing it as soon as possible after painting, i.e. whilst the paint is still wet although this has its own challenges (latex gloves, balling it up as you go and straight into a bin bag. Other channels I’ve watched seem to suggest painting off the wall and then simply touching up the pin holes. You are lucky as you have an excellent joiner at hand so filling should be at an absolute minimum, no pressure Rich!

Will the surface mounted extractor fan from the WC be powerful enough tp open the back draft shutter at the other end? I've got 2 in-line fans for WC and Utility, duct split via a y joint to a silent fan (yet 4 times more poweful than surfaced fans), which then has a metal back draft shutter with rubber seals to minimise potential flap sounds from external air coming in.

To meet current building / extraction rates for a utility should be a minimum of 30l/s to achieve that you usually have to fit 6 inch fan, unless you use a constant velocity fan then you would get away with a 4 inch and extraction rate would only need to be 8l/s mininmum.

Hello Micky, hope you're well. We'll be mad not accept things in turn for a honest review, and honest it'll always be. If we're sent something and it's crap we'll say so and if they then want it back they can have it. We purposely don't put adverts in the middle of our videos because we know how annoying they are to the viewer, so we're obviously not money grabbers, but we'd happily promote things that are great and tell you when things are not. Thank you for watching, have a great evening.
