Air Suspension Problem? Try This CHEAP Fix! Land Rover Discovery 4 / LR4

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hello everyone! In this episode I want to show you how I fixed my problem with the front valve block of the air suspension.
The problem was that the front axle of the Land Rover Discovery 4 / LR4 often took a long time to be lifted. Since this always happened on the complete front axle I suspected a problem with the front valve block. And so I ordered an O-ring set to replace the O-rings of the valve block.
Again, I used the GAP IID tool to let the air out of the air springs, saving me from having to let the air out through the bolted connections.
The exchange of the O-rings took about 20 minutes with cleaning the valve block and is not a big deal.
All in all, a fairly inexpensive maintenance compared to a new valve block, even though it took some time (about 1.5 to 2 hours). The O-rings cost with shipping to the 25 euros.
If you find the video helpful, I would be very happy about a Like. If you want to know more about repairs or maintenance of a Land Rover Discover 4 / LR4, please subscribe to my channel.
All the best,
Peter

Hi, thanks for this video it was a great help! My question is how tight are the air lines meant to be tightened onto the block itself, as they seem tight however with not a lot of effort they will still just turn with the spanner and not get tighter ?

easier to pop the center out of the panel clips as thats what locks it into place then remove the panel clip with the pry tool. that way you dont break them.

Hi Peter, thank you for the video. The linked repair-kit, is it only for the front valve block or does it contain the o-rings for the rear valve block too?

Hello @Thomas! The linked kit is for the front, rear and pressure switches. So it is a very good price I think. :)

Hello kargulo! It sounds like there is a leak in the front part of the system. And if both sides are leaking at the front in the morning, then I think it could be a problem with the new valve block or its connections. Have you checked the lines and connections with some soapy water from a spray bottle yet? Greetings, Peter

I have a similar problem, stripped my valve block down with the intention of swapping the O rings but one of the airline connections didn´t feel good on the thread so I ordered a new valve block but it is still dropping on the front, if I leave it in off road height it doesn´t drop so I don´t think I have a leak on the lines or air bags. I will investigate further and get back to you if I fix it

Since they have the same o-rings and look the same, I would say with reservation that they are the same. However, Land Rover gives different part numbers for them. So personally, if I needed a new rear valve block - even though they look the same - I would order the one that is identical to the OEM. Best regards, Peter

@@notthatkindofachannel да, о замене блока целиком я уже думал. Но не всегда копии хорошие. Много деталей плохого качества. В данном случае замена только резинок в оригинально блоке, мне кажется более лучшим способом.

Hey ,on AliExpress I have even found German replica parts of corresponding quality. Of course, it's a bit more expensive than ordering them from Germany directly, but at least it's an alternative to the delivery problems. All the best, Peter
