The messages were writes by a BLACK cadet...........................(CNN)In late September, after racist slurs were found on the message boards of five black cadet candidates at the Air Force Academy Preparatory School, the school's superintendent was angry. Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria told cadets to line up and pull out their phones to remember his message, and he forcefully denounced racism and intolerance. "If you're outraged by those words, then you're in the right place. That kind of behavior has no place at the Prep School," Silveria said. The speech was posted on Air Force Academy's Facebook page and quickly went viral. The Air Force launched an internal investigation to find the culprit. The powerful message the Air Force Academy's superintendent wanted to send loud and clear The powerful message the Air Force Academy's superintendent wanted to send loud and clear But on Tuesday, Air Force Academy officials said that one of the black cadet candidates actually wrote the racist messages. "We can confirm that one of the cadet candidates who was allegedly targeted by racist remarks written outside their dorm room was actually responsible for the act," the Academy said in a written statement. "The individual admitted responsibility and this was validated by the investigation." The vandalism was written in black marker and said "Go home" with the N-word, according to CNN affiliate KRDO. Lt. Col. Allen Herritage, director of public affairs with the Academy, said that the cadet responsible admitted his guilt when confronted. The individual has "received administrative punishment" and is no longer at the preparatory school, Herritage said. The four other students that were the target of the vandalism are still at the Prep School, which is on the same campus in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as the Air Force Academy. The Prep School helps ready about 240 cadets each year to enter the academy. 'This is our institution' Air Force Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen Jay Silveria speaking to Cadets in Sept, 2017. Air Force Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen Jay Silveria speaking to Cadets in Sept, 2017. Silveria, the Academy's superintendent, made clear in his speech in September that there would be no tolerance for racist rhetoric at the Academy. "If you can't treat someone from another gender, whether that's a man or a woman, with dignity and respect, then you need to get out," he said. "If you demean someone in any way, then you need to get out. And if you can't treat someone from another race or different color skin with dignity and respect, then you need to get out." "This is our institution, and no one can take away our values," Silveria added. "No one can write on a board and question our values. No one can take that away from us." Although the hateful graffiti was revealed to be a hoax, the Air Force Academy affirmed that same message of dignity respect in a statement on Tuesday. "Racism has no place at the Academy, in any shape or form. We will continue to create a climate of dignity and respect for all, encourage ideas that do so, and hold those who fail to uphold these standards accountable." Silveria said in a statement on Tuesday that his speech remained relevant despite the investigation's outcome. "Regardless of the circumstances under which those words were written, they were written, and that deserved to be addressed," he said. "You can never overemphasize the need for a culture of dignity and respect and those who don't understand those concepts aren't welcome here." CNN's Jamie Crawford contributed to this report.

I'm looking at it right now "Die angemessene Reaktion auf eine schreckliche Botschaft, eine schreckliche Idee ist eine bessere Idee". Every time i face a problem is it business or private, i remember this citation and i demand a better idea from myself. And i demand a better idea from my staff, my employees. Believe it or not, there were problems i had before which i have replaced with better ideas, worked hard to achieve those ideas, and achieved them eventually. You have chosen a wise citation from a men with character, leadership, integrity and wisdom. Make it your own, make it your habit, make it your method to search for solutions. And if you remember, come back in 4 years and tell me, how this has played out for you. I predict it's gonna be good.

@Simba Your observations are accurate to be sure, but the real horrors of the US system are the electoral college and campaign finance laws. There have been five elections (including two in the last 20 years) in which a candidate got more electoral college votes but lost the popular vote. Most recently, 2.8 million more people voted for Clinton, but because of the way the electoral college system is structured, tRump got in. It puts the election in a handful of swing states which decides the results for the entire country. The recent erosion to campaign finance laws have basically legalized political bribery to the benefit of the power elite in both parties. Both of these issues are responsible for squelching much chance for third parties to gain traction. Recent extreme efforts by Republicans to suppress voter participation have also contributed to the point where the U.S. is now considered a "Flawed Democracy", ranked 25th on the Democracy Index compiled by the Economist Intelligence Unit. The so-called "Beacon of Hope" the US used to aspire to be is now a cautionary tale about how a noble experiment can, in time, fail.

As for the "fake" incident, I think the guy who spoke in the video didn't know who wrote the words at the time of his speech because this video was uploaded in September while the news article that you linked (along with all the other articles that I have seen report about this) were published no earlier than the 8th of November. So I would give this guy the benefit of the doubt and believe he truly meant what he said. Other than that, he clearly didn't talk about any bullshit statistics, senseless excuses or stupid agendas that the leftist politicians always use in their speech. All he said in this video: "If you can't treat someone with respect, get out". And in my opinion, even if it is a black guy who did that, it's still disrespectful and irresponsible. @Boots Jew ➊ Stop with your slanderous rhetoric. Remember who gives you the right to say that. The military and the government do to protect you. Remember, without them you'd be dead by now if you said the wrong thing. Do not abuse your rights please, it disrespects the point of this nation.

@Boots Jew ➊ Still with the falsehoods. Drone Strikes are much safer than manned strikes and even then the military prefers to have a confirmed match on their target before opening fire. Preferably outside of population centers, I read a book on it called Drone Warrior which illustrated it from a non-biased author who operated the drones.
