How plant medicine can impact your mind. Each panelist gave a 10 minute speech on their background, work, & personal experience. Then spoke to plant medicine benefits/ potential risks for your mental health, the integration of plant medicine in mental health therapy/ daily life, how the discourse has changed in the last few years.
Dr. Charles Grob (UCLA) - Charles Grob, Ph.D. is the Director of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He began clinically studying ayahuasca and MDMA in the nineties as the first researcher to be granted FDA approval. Grob has also conducted studies on psilocybin where his work provided the foundation of the renaissance in psychedelics research occurring today. The future of psychedelics research is moving quickly thanks in large part to Grob's decades of clinical work.
Dr. David Tripp (Antioch University) - David Tripp, Ph.D. is a professor in the Undergraduate Studies Liberal Arts Program at Antioch University Los Angeles where he oversees the Queer Studies concentration. He teaches courses on Psychedelics and the Politics of Psychology among other things. Along with his partner, Jennifer Bradpiece, he also assists persons interested in working to integrate their psychedelic experiences.
Weslie Christensen ‘Wake Up With Weslie’ - Weslie has seen and done it all. From being homeless for a moment in time with three small children, to being a part of creating the world's largest lantern festival, the highs have been high, and the lows, oh-so-low. Somewhere along the line she woke up to her true potential and stopped people pleasing her way through life. This is where her podcast 'Wake Up With Weslie' was born.
