@@Rell-eu8wv Nah, as "free speech" exists as an idea, it can totally become an identity and a label, thus also allowing itself to be commodified, regardless of the content of said idea, similar to how you can readily buy Marxist apparel in America. It's ironic, but it's a real world occurence. Also, you're comparing the most authoritarian end of "wokeism" to the libertarian end of "free speech," with quotes denoting its identity in the public space, and not so much the content of it. This is tied to the issue of many people seeming to blur the lines of "wokeism" by equating criticism with cancelling, which are two very different things. An idea that people identify with can be easily skewed, much in the same way North Korea calls itself a "democratic republic." Just like the original poster, you lack fucking nuance. Wokeism is indeed tied to "cancelling," but so what? Conservatives are tied to cancelling the Dixie Chicks, except one hides behind "free speech." It's always been a matter of who is in power at the time, not the ideas themselves. Being an ideologue, no matter the idea, is toxic for society, and that's the actual content of what Ai is trying to communicate. I've seen this clip get spread around the internet as a defense of Donald Trump, and just like Marxist apparel in America, it's really fucking ironic. Also, I assume the 1984 in your name is in reference to Orwell. Try reading it again, maybe improve your comprehension skills in general. Then read his "Notes on Nationalism."

@@ludanyke2895 Still, the only threat really relevant in this era is the staggering power growth of woke propaganda "news," corporate boardrooms, and their sick threeway marriage with politicians. No one is in any danger of the stuff the media *says* Trump threatens civilization with, except for those threatened by ordinary people having freedom to do business, raise families, and govern their communities for themselves. You worry about "Nationalism" but really we are so far out of balance you have nothing to worry about. So conservatives used the boycott too, once upon a time. But they have no power if all that happens is the media and the global corporations look down on them and sneer. Look, only a handful of companies even advertise on FoxNews. The others either are afraid of woke cancellation outrage or they despise conservatives. Their power is obliterating freedom.

@@godblessamerica9356 You’re too focused on the idea of “woke” vs the idea of “free speech.” That is the conflict the powerful want you to focus on. They want to be “woke” caricatures, don’t you get it? And you can replace “woke” with any other cultural phenomenon. If you attack the strawman, you don’t attack them. That is the authoritarianism. That is how they control the opposition. “American values.” They pigeonhole you into an identity in order to divide and conquer. What free speech fully entails is obviously better for human societies than what flimsy legs “wokeism” stands on, but until the people who actually value free speech acknowledge the responsibility that comes with it, you will never escape the vicious cycle and continue on in this corporate rat-race.

In America, Trump brought blacks historically low unemployment, and has many black supporters because of it.
