What he fails to say is Trump negotiated the withdrawal from Afghanistan not Biden. He set the day and the draw down with the Taliban. Over and over again he also fails to talk about what the Heritage foundations 2025 says and what they recomment.

John Maynard Keynes wrote in the preface to the General Theory: "the composition of this book has been for the author a long struggle of escape, and so must the reading of it be for most readers if the author's assault upon them is to be successful,-a struggle of escape from habitual modes of thought and expression. The ideas which are here expressed so laboriously are extremely simple and should be obvious. The difficulty lies, not in the new ideas, but in escaping from the old ones, which ramify, for those brought up as most of us have been, into every corner of our minds." As I read through the criticisms by Krugman, Summers, and Rogoff, I kept thinking of Keynes’ words. Those prominent economists aren’t even so much rejecting MMT as holding tight to their own orthodox views. This is not necessarily on purpose, but it’s extremely difficult for anyone to make a paradigm shift. MMT, aka macroeconomics done properly, is, as Keynes says, “extremely simple and should be obvious.” The problem we have here is the difficulty in escaping from antiquated notions of macro modeling (Krugman), inflation (Summers), and debt financing (Rogoff). www.forbes.com/sites/johntharvey/2019/03/05/mmt-sense-or-nonsense/?sh=3a4321185852

i find it startling that Krugman is so irritated to even discuss it.. if its so rubbish why isnt he calmly take it apart.. why are traditional economists so freaked out by new paradig,ms, new language, new working premise? why do they feel so threatened... it doesnt negate them and their education, does it

This was great! I just wish that Frank Bruni would have acknowledged that the idiocy is not either anti-Semitism or ignorance. Bruni mentioned the 3rd explanation himself - the cult of oppression. And Jews are defined as oppressors who have contributed to America's oppression. DEI, the 1619 project, white fragility, and Foucault's garbage have become more sacred than the Bible and the US Constitution. And unless we use all legitimate means to banish them from public discourse and the educational system, we will not have a country anymore. And that will destroy the entire civilized world. We ignore this culture of grievance at our peril.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “In the future, the state of Israel has to control the entire area from the river to the sea.” He added that the conflict has been about the existence of a Jewish state, not the lack of a Palestinian one.

Good grief. These folks make money on gossip. 2nd and 3rd person gossip is what the brit gutter press vomit up for their gossip hungry citizenry and, HYPOCRITICALLY, (reiterate hypocritically) whine when folks dare to tell their own story (reiterate OWN). Sigh!

His history of critical race theory sounds right. Derek Bell, who was a civil rights lawyer in the government, became a scholar, who thought the civil rights movement had petered out. Basically, it had failed because it hadn't gone far enough.

Coleman, you have articulated a coherent view on Dei, but your explanation that Dei doesn't affect elections is absurd. I know people that vote for black candidates for no other reason than race. How can you be so clear on this subject but fail so completely in this one area?

We need more pragmatic voices like Frank Bruni to call out all the nonsense and encourage people to educate themselves in issues as well as allowing themselves to listen to other viewpoints without judgement. I think American colleges and universities missed an opportunity to encourage students who took sides in the Israel/Gaza conflict to come together and learn more about the history. It is also not helpful when Jewish students had chants like "from the river to the sea" shouted at them and causing such a contentious and hostile environment. Hindsight is 20/20, but the schools should have never allowed students to set up encampments on campus. The students who were arrested should be made to collectively pay for the damage they caused to property as well as for the costs to remove the encampments. Insurance companies and schools should not be required to pay for the actions of some misguided students. Sadly, after all the disturbance, was even one Palestinian saved from death or starvation?

Some of these "kids" (some of the college students at Columbia and elsewhere), are actually chanting "We Are Hamas." American college students chanting in support of Hamas indicates a serious problem. The problem is, indeed, the adults-- the college professors who taught their students that terrorist groups such as Hamas are worthy of support.

There is "speech", no challenges to truth-seeking, when someone throws at you a HATE speech, a speech fueled with contempt, not addressing your ideas and opinions, but your body and your personal choices, instilling against you discursive and practical violence (because humans are like that, triggered by words and emotions). So, Prof. West was trying to be a little bit more precise about what he meant by freedom rather than allowing anyone to say anything as Prof. George seemed to defend.

To be clear: The MAGA congress has rejected Bidenns border bill. Bidens border bill offers rigorous reconstruction on immigration/asylum policies which are better solutions than any GOP ideas (which are zero bipartisan solutions). Heritage Foundation writer is being intellectually dishonest about the 2025 project and its primary purpose to make our country into autocracy with an oligarchy. He evaded many of the hosts questions with MAGA gaslighting rhetoric. the MAGA henchmen are an insult to the WWII generation who faced hardships and sacrificed lives to stop the malicious Nazi plan. My grandfather was an Infantry medic who landed on Omaha beach and warned me about people like trump and his supporters

I used to listen to Coleman Hughes but the more I looked into the topics he choose to discuss, the less satisfying his answers become. As an alternative, I recommend listening to or reading the works of Adolph Reed JR or his son Touré Reed. I find them to provide a much more rigorous analysis of this subject matter.
