Those aren't Purge Troopers. They're Death Troopers, like the ones we see in Rogue One. We also see them accompanying Thrawn in Rebels. These are probably those same troopers, but it looks like they've been literally dead for quite a while.

I was about to make the same comment, but then i wanted to make sure no one made it before me. this is made clear because the purge troopers have one connecting visor where as the death troopers have seperate ones. another clue is that their Dymac Exhaust filter is circular unlike the rectangular ones on the purge trooper helmet.

So basically Peridea is the center of everything. It's connected to Purrgils, Nightsisters, Zeffo, Mortis Gods. Also, I just hope they continue Baylan's story in live action. Have Shin take his role or recast him. I know everyone already said it,but I LOVED Ray Stevenson's performance. His gravitas carried every single scene he was in.

Three things: those were Death Troopers, not Purge Troopers (potentially re-animated versions of the two that Ezra kills while storming the bridge of the Chimera in the Rebels finale), and the fact that they're undead Death Troopers is probably a reference to the Legends 'Death Troopers' novel about zombie stormtroopers. Second, the lights in the sky at the end are just the rings of Peridea. Finally, Huyang says Ezra's blade emitter is too thin, probably a reference to all the complaints about the lightsabers being too thin in Rebels.

There's a lot more meaning to Danse Macabre's violin being played at the ressurection scene. The entire composition is meant to represent the dance of the dead in the one night of the year where death let's them rise from the grave to enjoy themselves. The whole piece is telling a story, from xylophones representing the clicking bones of the dancing skeletons to the wind instruments at the end representing the sigh of the dead as they know the party is over and they have to go back in the ground. But the off-tune violin we hear in this episode is the very start of the composition, and it represents, literally, death's fiddle, which is the means through which death awakens the dead for their little ball, just as the witches were waking the dead here.

The part at the end with Ray Stevenson was pretty sad. I was hoping he would have a heroic death or something that brought his story to a close, but the ending meant they planned on him being in the series/movies a lot longer, and now I'm not sure what they will do. He was easily the best character/actor in the series, and he won't be easy to replace or whatever they will have to do.

A few things: Yep, those are death^2 troopers. Could point out that Ezra's force jump was actually his first force ability. He naturally learned this one as a child. Third! Sabine turning back to rejoin her Master, giving up on following Ezra is a true show of selflessness. I have no doubt that she'll excel in light side teaching.

The black armored troopers on the top of the temple are Death Troopers from Rogue One and Rebels. They took their name from the zombie troopers in Legends, so Dave having the Death Troopers come back as Double Death Troopers is awesome. You got the reference wrong though. It could also be implying that Death Troopers have ALWAYS been undead, raised by Palpatine with Sith Majik not just to protect his most valued officials, but probably to spy on them too. He could probably order them with the Force to off a traitor instantly. Like a more extreme version of Inhibitor Chips.

21:36 - The way Baylan is looking out toward that light is the same framing when Anakin was looking toward the Monastery of the Father in the Clone Wars, Season 3, Episode 15. If Anakin was the "chosen one" in that episode then maybe Baylan will be that in this series. He kind of wanted to stop the constant back and forth nature of good versus evil in the universe. So maybe he becomes the new "father" and brings peace and balance in the universe.

We also see Morgan cut one of Ahsokas light sabers in half. Maybe, given that those sabers were connected to Anakin because he gifted them to her, this is symbolic of her shift in perspective in regard to him. She can focus on the good he did as opposed be being ashamed and burdened by the duality of what he became.

My thought is… Why would the writers have Morgan say she “saw the catacombs” ? Not, “I saw the carbonite freezing chamber…” or whatever. It’s invoking the idea of zombies from that point on. An army of zombie night sisters connects perfectly to CWs and Rebels where we already saw this happen before; as well as Marrock and the zombie night troopers we’ve already saw in this season. It’s an interesting idea to say they are all frozen or whatever, but the writings on the wall- it’s a zombie night sister army.

Basically saying job well done your men performed their duties as they downed the ship and made their odds of escape far greater. Not once have I ever seen an Imperial officer show any kind of appreciation for their troops like this in Star Wars that i can remember.

I think the line where Thrawn says "there will be no negotiating with the apprentice of Anakin Skywalker" is a reference to what Anakin says to Padme in Episode 2 about entering into "aggressive negotiations", which he elaborates means negotiations with a lightsaber. Also, Ahsoka using the Blade of Talzin against Morgan to defeat and kill her reminded me of Anakin using Count Dooku's lightsaber to behead him.

The Night Sisters and Thrawn wouldn’t be running from that. That’s Abeloth and the cracks in her cage sending up that stream of light. I’m certain. That’s the unimaginable power of which Baylan spoke of throughout the season.
