I'm pretty sure Thrawn asking if the troopers were aware wasn't about their awareness of being resurrected, but about them being aware that by volunteering to stall the Jedi they were not going to ever leave Peridea -- alive or dead or resurrected. Hence why he had asked for volunteers rather than ordering troopers to attack the Jedi.

Thrawn's whole premise in the original EU was basically: "what if an Imperial officer commanded troops through respect and loyalty, rather than fear?" This episode shows that, between him asking if his would-be zombie troopers gave their informed consent, and giving the fighter pilots' captain a citation (basically, a medal).

A citation in the military is a GOOD thing. For instance, the Medal of Honor citation is the official record for why the individual is receiving the award and is read to troops to inspire them. Thrawn here was giving an award to the captain posthumously as a gesture to boost morale for the rest of his troops, not to whip them into obedience.

Small detail.. @ 7:53 you mention the "wood between Worlds" as from Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe. Although they Pevensies did arrive in a forest area, that area was in the Narnian world. The "Wood between Worlds" was mentioned in the prequal book, "The Magician's Nephew" in which the wood has pools (like the portals in Star Wars) that lead to other worlds. When Digory Kirk and company fall into a pool they find it leads them to Narnia and they witness the creation of Narnia.

I disagree about the kyber crystals. I'm guessing Huyang has a stash. You can't expect a Jedi to go on a massive quest every single time their saber is lost or broken. Look how often it happens. It's just not practical. Sure, if they have time to go on a quest, okay. But, they also need them on the fly. The quest as a Padawan is just more of a rite of passage.

@maxstroberger5404 I feel like the very decomposed flesh underneath their helmets indicates that they are, in fact, reanimated. Furthermore, we've just seen the Night Sisters do the same thing to a few dozen standard troopers, and they're both also much tankier than any Death Troopers previously shown. Previously, we've seen their type go down to a single shot. But these two were able to endure multiple, as well as lightsaber strikes. I think this is enough to conclude that they're undead.

13:06 I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but "citation" in military conflicts usually refers to the written narrative that accompanies an award or medal honoring someone's dedication or major accomplishment. In this case, the pilot's citation might call out how he sacrificed his life to delay the enemy long enough for friendly forces to escape. If this is what the writers intended, it really highlights how much Thrawn cares about his troops and explains their loyalty to him. Awards like these improve morale and solidarity, and good leaders use them at the right times.

This is a great video. Your enthusiasm is infectious. It is fun to specutate. Baylon was a real stand out. I love Huyang. The only down for me was the emotional dissonance displayyed by Ezra and Sabina when they reunited. Just felt wrong. Still loved the series and desire more. Perhaps Grogu"s observing the space whales was in response to Asoka being in them.

Baylan is wearing two different shades of green cloaks at the end. a darker shade, that is the same color as the vegetation of the mountain & a lighter shade that could be reminiscent of the Daughter. in fact, the coloring of his whole garb looks very much aligned with the epic scene he is standing in... perhaps signifying he is becoming one with his greater mission.

It would make sense that they would have grabbed any Kybur crystals they came in contact. And since in the previous episode we saw how Ezra was stronger with the Force than before he could probably wield any crystal he came in contact with.

The extra crystal when he's building his 3rd lightsaber, it could just be one he keeps for testing. If you know how to build them you might have the need to repair them, and being able to swap out crystals to test quickly if that's why a lighstaber was malfunctioning could be useful. I fix electronics, and often times having extra parts is the fastest or only way to test what's wrong.

Filoni was referring to the wood between worlds in "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's nephew" and not "The Lion, The Witch and the wardrobe". The wood between worlds was a place that connected all space and time, all worlds in one nexus, with portals leading to each. So he got both the concept and the name from that book.

To be clear, that "citation" (because I'm seeing a lot of people potentially interpreting it wrong) has a much different meaning in the military than it does in most other aspects. Example, a citation from a police officer is more of a write-up or disciplinary action. However, in the military, a citation usually means an honorary mention that celebrates a soldier's actions. So, I see this as not a petty post-death disciplinary action in those two pilots record, but rather an honor that they gave their lives for their Admiral in a successful attempt to stall our heroes.

Ezra was trained by a pirate who was casually sleeping with his best friend, encouraged attachment and let Ezra learn about the darkside with Maul. Ahsoka is a straight up Jedi outcast that resents the old order and council. Sabine is basically a force sensitive Mando that's learning force techiques.
