Hi there. The bass sounded beautiful with the original PUs. And it still sounds extremely nice with the Aguilars. They offer a bit asditional low and top end, plus they are him cancelling, which is nice too. So overall, I'm really pleased with these PUs. Thx a lot for watching and commenting! 😀👍🏻

@@Wido08GP I had 250k pots in with the Apollo’s, but I am in the middle of changing to 500k volume pots (keeping the 250k tone pot) to see how much more brightness or clarity they give. Don’t get me wrong, the Apollo’s are not dull by any means, just not exactly as “crisp” sounding as true single coils. The 500k’s might do the trick… There is a video by Oliver Tobin who compared the Apollo’s to Geddy Lee SC’s using 250k pots with each: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X59r1ZWzfb2pedI.html If you listen closely, you can hear a very slight difference in the very top end. and then this video of the Apollo’s with 500k pots: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pYyMtaejh7O-qsY.html I’m curious whether the Aguilar’s have a similar attribute …
@dupajas4671

I finished installing the 500k volume pots, and they did bring in that tad bit of extra clarity lost due to the nature of the Apollo’s. So I would indeed recommend using 500k pots with them, but not 100% necessary. They are however higher-output than standard single coil pickups. @Michael Schmitt did say that the Aguilar’s are lower output than his old single coils, so there is that difference in particular. Aguilar doesn’t specify the AGHC pickups’ DC resistance, but my 5-string Apollo’s are about 12.5k ohms.

Hi there! Glad, you´ve enjoyed it. Well, I´ve recorded them without any EQ or bass preamp. And the tone control was at around 80-90% openend, for all examples. Played into an amp (preamp), and with some compression added, it sounds extremly smooth. It´s not a bad thing, to have plenty of something. It´s way easier to tone something down, than to add something that originally wasn´t there. So, for me, the presence of deep bass and much high frequency response is a good thing. These pickups are definitly very dynamic. I´ll post a video of this bass, played through my EBS setup anytime soon, so stay tuned. Thx a lot for watching and commenting!
