Autonomous drone-based perimeter control system
A modular and highly configurable system consisting of a drone and automated robotic battery-swapping station for unattended perimeter control. The system could be deployed remotely and operate without an operator's direct supervision. The system comes with an operator's control station providing mission execution support or can be integrated into existing perimeter control systems.
The battery-swapping station contains four charging slots and allows for uninterrupted operation. It also provides protection to drones in case of severe weather conditions.
Operation modes are (i) fully automated continuous operation with a selection from several predefined trajectories optimized using game-theory algorithms, (ii) semi-automated mode allowing the operator to select areas of interest or waypoints and (iii) manual mode.
All modes are supported by trajectory planning algorithms which take into account 3D models of the environment, restricted areas, and no-flight zones.
The system can be extended by PTZ cameras, vibration sensors, or other static sensors.
The video feed can be processed onboard at the control center using AI algorithms to detect significant objects, like people or cars.
