I grew up in Rapid City. Jeff spent a lot of time in our home while he was there in the ministry. I always appreciated Jeff's spirit of kindness and caring (and his culinary skills!). He was the first worker I saw volunteer in the community. Actually, the ONLY worker I've seen volunteer in the community. Thank you for sharing his story and his love.

I am so very grateful that I found your channel. One whole side of my family has been involved in the meetings/workers for many many years. Those family members tried to convince my mom and all of my sisters that we should join as well. Thankfully, my mother and my father realized that this was not a good group to join. I just watched the video that David’s wife made. I feel like I need to start with the other videos at the beginning. I know this will be so helpful and enlightening. I am so grateful that the Lord has led you and your wife out of this group. God is so good and so faithful! ✝️

13 min 44 sec....he is dead on about the east Coast friends who were divorced were not allowed to take part in meeting for 7 years 😳😥I lived in Maryland when I was about 22 ( in 1989) and went to meeting in the home of a divorced lady whos husband didn't belong to the truth but she went to meeting faithfully and informed me why she didn't take part...I still think of her to this day. Blessings to you and your family 🙏

Jeff, you probably don’t remember me, but I remember the day when you and Lori were screwing porch posts to the porch deck of Lori’s aunt’s home in Lisbon, ND. My wife was Lori’s first cousin. I am commenting because of all of Lori’s family relatives, her brother Darryl, his wife, Diane, as well as her Aunt Lois and Dean are probably the heartiest friends in that area of ND. When I first was introduced to the Evanson relatives, I quickly realized that those two couples had something about their spirit that resonated with my spirit. Later, I had the privilege of enjoying sweet fellowship with both couples in the meetings. I am not criticizing your decision to leave the work and the friends. You have your reasons. However, I predict that you will not ever be successful in finding any better fellowship with like hearted and like minded people other than with people like her relatives who I listed. Such fellowship simply does not exist outside of the way that is referenced as the “Two By Two’s.” This way of proclaiming the gospel is, incidentally, the only scripturally correct way. Jesus sent the 12 and later the 70 disciples in pairs. There are several passages of scripture that clearly verify that fact. He never sent a single disciple to do his bidding. Jesus commanded this duality because he knew that it was the custom of the Jews to require a minimum of two witnesses before they would believe that even a single word someone was telling them was actually true. That fact is verified in the OT. The workers correctly believe that Jesus had a distinct reason to command this method of proclaiming his message to the world, and they are willing to look like laughing stock to abide by Jesus’ requirement of companionship for the purpose of witnessing. I wish you well in your search for a better way to serve God than Jesus provided.

A legalistic group started in 1897 that denies the deity of Christ and strives in vain towards a worked based salvation. They claim no name, but are known as Meetings, The Truth, Friends & Workers, 2x2s, The Fellowship, The Way, etc. They claim to be a continuation of the 1st century church and the "ministers" or workers, are homeless and go in pairs. However, they stay in members homes known as the Friends. In '23 & '24 a lot of CSA and SA has been revealed in the leadership and members, so many of the Friends are leaving the group.

@@davidalinkAn introductory video on how meetings work, beliefs, etc would be great for us who have no knowledge of the group. This came up in my feed yesterday and I really enjoy your interviewing style. I thought Friends and Quakers were the same thing or have similar roots. Is there any truth to this or have I been mistaken? Thanks!
