    Interesting video! Hopefully our area will get FTTH someday. Noticed you commented Northern Ohio. I was born in Sandusky and moved to Kansas when I was 15. I miss the bay/lake and definitely eating perch which I might get when visiting this April. 🤤

    I like the video and how you show the entire install alot of other videos just show the drop no termination, I used to work for Time Warner Cable years ago and after a while hated it 😅 . I guess you were working in a pretty safe area because in new york or the other boros they would of stole everything even the tires on your truck 😮.. verizon would pay someone to sit in the truck while the installer did their thing.

    pretty cool channel got recommended in my newsfeed I used to do commercial, Spectrum and Home fun getting on the ladder that’s for sure putting it up lol by the way, with the get that thing replaced bro, it’s cracked all the way to the hooks plus sunbaked and dried out best letter to get is the big giant ladder Plus, their hook system is awesome and it’s so much lighter than those heavy ass ladders keep the videos coming and these devices that you’re connecting to. You should explain what they are so other people know. The names. And what it does. To help other people out understanding what you’re doing

    @@naturallyrootedgrowers Hey I know this is a semi old video but I got a quick question for you. I have cat5e cable in my house that connects all my pcs to my modem, when I switch to fiber do they replace all that or is cat5e enough?

  • @naturallyrootedgrowers

    @naturallyrootedgrowers

    Ай бұрын

    cat 5e can handle up to 1gig or 1000mbit, which is plenty for the majority of households. I wouldnt see you even needing to purchase more than a 500mbit plan, most of that will be wasted also, but it will help if you are a gamer and do large game updates. Gaming itself needs less than 10mbit for most fast action games. Its the ping or latency that needs to be low to stay, refreshing you and opponents in the live match.

    @@naturallyrootedgrowers I got fiber installed a month ago with the 500/500Mb plan and even that is overkill I’ve gotten a few brief peeks of around 130Mb area. I have around 45 devices on my network. I have a graph on my UniFi hardware showing the last 24 hours. So it is easy to look. Easy to see what I’m using, data wise, those peeks are basically torrenting. Which I don’t do a lot of. I may just drop down to 300/300Mb. Save the $10 a month.

    Wow! Everybody gets a dedicated fiber and not a PON/GPON connection? That's crazy! But I guess that saves from having to build multiple field PON cabinets with associated power and UPS complexities :)

    I was looking at doing this for a job. I got two new companies coming into the area. Not only that, but I am not sure if it pays well vs. working in a factory making 45k a year.

  • @naturallyrootedgrowers

    @naturallyrootedgrowers

    My life started in a few factories, since 2006 I have been a field tech for Directv, Exede, then spectrum. If you want a slow steady career with benefits i suggest applying directly with the main company supplying the service. They may range 40k to 55k starting out and have decent caps. I started as a company tech and switched to the contracting because of the side work and decent money from a job by job based pay. No retirement or benefits but it can work if you plan for it and do it on your own. It might range 40k to 120k a year depending on your speed and how many days a week your gonna put in.
