Wow respect to the 71 year old Lady!
My biggest problem was when married men truckers would hit on me...:/ My advice..flannels, hats, and work boots! It was hard to be taken seriously, however as a lady driver, and also Chicago being my school..I developed major skills and wasn't afraid to show 'em!! :) Good luck! There are drivers that will big brother you, and there are drivers that will resent you...just keep it real! Oh and it didn't hurt to pretend to be a lesbian once in awhile and/or turn OFF the C.B. radio! Lol Little Rugrat was my handle, 10 yrs., million miles...been settled down and married now for about 9 yrs. and I didn't marry a trucker! :)
You ladies are queens of the road! My hat is off to you all! I can't wait to "serve" with you all! And I learned something here today! That was sound advice, about getting fuel AFTER your 10 hour break!!! That's how I 'm going to do it too! Thank you all,and take care of yourselves, and drive safe.
I can't wait to get on the road. You ladies are my heroes
Most respect fot the last lady! Over 4 million miles! That is what about 7 million kilometers! WOW! That is A LOT of driving! My dad was a captain and he didn't rank up as many miles as this lady did! She knows what she is doing and if more truckers were like her, the roads would be a much better place!
been at it 16 years and have to say women make excellent truckers nowdays! because of the increased volume of traffic, driving now requires a lot more patience which is not a mans virtue. keep on truckn ladies and keep the shiny side up

Thank you Joe, we appreciate gentlemen who respect women. We have to collaborate on the roads, it should not be about antagonism or chauvinism.
Absolutely! We definately need more women on the road like Ms. Sandi Talbott
I could not agree more with Helen! Women drivers that hop from truck to truck make the rest of us look bad!! I'm married and it disgusts me when guys see my wedding ring and they still disrespect me and my husband by hitting on me!! I'm not out here for your enjoyment! I'm out here to help support my family while doing what I've wanted to do since I was a little girl!! Not all male drivers are this way though, some are actually respectful!
Charlotte You Are RIGHT ON!!! Sandi is AWESOME! Thanks for visiting our channel....Wishing you all the best, from the REAL Women in Trucking

The last lady almost made me cry

Hello, I am a 25 year old mother to a 2 year old babygirl, I have been thinking about getting my CDL for about a year now, I Love driving, I do not see myself working in a office the rest of my life, although I Love traveling I will prefer to drive locally or withing my state North Carolina because I am a mother before anything else.. I am not scary of driving a truck, I am a little nervous, what would be your advice for me as a young mother pursuing the truck driving field? Thank you in advance.

Hello Victoria, Driving locally means unloading freight, doing labor. Yesterday I talked to a guy doing local driving and he said he has 22 stops per day, unloads several hundred boxes and crates that sometimes weight 100 lbs and at small locations he even has to stock the shelves with the product. Then he has to collect the checks for payment and after he does all this driving and labor he has to do an accurate accounting of his payments received. He said he is doing 3 jobs for the price of one low paid job and many are quitting. A CDL school WILL tell you that local jobs are available but you need to be realistic about what local jobs are and what they entail. Please email us directly for more information that we can help you with realwomenintrucking@gmail.com Thanks DW
Great Info.
Thank You! It means a lot to us!
Is it as dangerous to drive big trucks as people make it out to be? I'm thinking bout becoming a driver my self but I have some concerns.
