Lyrics
I built a house for a love to grow
I was so young that it was hard to know
I’m as lost now as I was back then
Always make a mess of everything
It’s about time that I face myself
All I do is bleed into someone else
Painting walls with all my secret tears
Filling rooms with all my hopes and fears
But oh my, oh my
I’ll never learn if I never leap
I’ll always yearn if I never speak
To be loved and love at the highest count
Means to lose all the things I can’t live without
Let it be known that I will choose to lose
It’s a sacrifice
But I can’t live a lie let it be known
Let it be known that I tried
I’m so afraid but I’m open wide
I’ll be the one to catch myself this time
Trying to learn to lean into it all
Ain’t it funny how the mighty fall
Looking back I don’t regret a thing
Yeah I took some bad turns
That I am owning
I’ll stand still and let the storm pass by
Keep my heart safe til the time feels right
Let it be known that I cried for you
Even started lying to you
What a thing to do
All because I wanted to be loved…

I hardly ever comment here, but I listened to 30 in one sitting and I will never forget what this song did to me the first time it came on because it still has the same effect. It's so raw, so honest, so relatable...this video is just her. Sitting at home in lounge wear and pouring her heart out in every notep with no mic, no effects, no pianist. I'm in awe of you. Thank you for everything that you are ❤🙌🏻.

There is something so special about 30. She mentioned in an interview that 21 became so big that it essentially became an album for us, her audience. But she then explained 30 is hers - it’s what’s she’s poured her heart into while she was in isolation and would come back to frequently like a friend. 30 isn’t like the other albums. It’s her most personal one yet, and it’s as though she’s taking her most personal stories, her biggest insecurities, and sharing it with us in raw fashion. It’s a masterpiece and so incredibly powerful.

her voice just did something to my soul... like she created so many feelings and thoughts i've never had... truly the voice of angel!!!
I grew up in the 70's and 80's lived through a few generations fo music but Since I have been alive Adele has to be the best singer out of all of them. I am talking the best out of every genre of music

I know Adele may seem like the best we have because our generation of mainstream musicians have lowered standards so significantly. But trust me, they are a lot of singers that have delievered better and more soulful vocals on youtube. But it's been years since we had a big mainstream singer deliver something like this. It's sad that so many great and soulful vocalists are underrated these days making people believe that Adele, despite being great, is the best we have. I hope Adele's return incites mainstream music audiences to allocate more attention to other great singers that deserves as much recognition as her.

@@michaelm.3210 Adele is literally the best selling artist of the 21st century. Her album 21 is the best selling album of the 21st century and 25 is the 4th best selling album. All together (19,21,25) she has sold over 60 million copies. All within just 13 years. Plus the list of awards she won and records she broke goes on and on. She is literally a living legend. It’s going to be hard to even try to top Adele. So she may not be your favorite, but she is still the greatest artist of our time and will continue to be.

Such an nescient, so erroneous assertion. I see your incredulity is showing. Piteous.
the way that she just casually sang this while chilling on the couch?? like whattttt? how is this is even possible. her voice never fails to bring me to tears, its so powerful and soulful and raw. i literally have no words, i seriously hope i get to hear her perform live one day. oh my word, this woman is so talented. easily the best vocalist of our generation.

love love love...what i love about adele is that she not afraid to show the world her feelings. she sings from her heart and it touches everyone who loves her. the entire 30's albumn is breathtaking.
Imagine being Adele's son and hearing your mother singing in the living room. OMG!
This lady right here, she makes me feel depressed and missing people who I never met. She describes the motion of life in a way I could never, and even though she sings such saddened melodies, her voice feels like therapy.

PERFECTION absolute perfection...There is no one like her now nor will there ever be another like her..She is PERFECTION. She has an inner beauty that makes her even more beautiful than she already is. She is a rare Diamond.....
And after the masterpiece she did , she just smiled and heres me crying
“there were a couple notes” girl no. you killed this as usual. made the my skin crawl and eyes teary.
Adele, OMG!! I am crying 😢 😭 after watching you sing your soul out. That was so beautiful, genuine, and the most human. I have ever seen someone sing. Girl, this song is definitely coming from a place of brokenness and vulnerability. Thank you for sharing this sacred space with your fans. It was an honor to watch and hear. You are a light and blessing to those around you. Know you are enough, and someone will come along who see the real you and cherish your whole heart ❤ . That is my prayer for you. Even in the brokenness, there's beauty. But don't forget to give yourself grace and allow the healing process to happen. You give people hope when they don't have any. Because they get to see the real you. No mask. Just you. That takes courage to do that and vulnerability. So thank you for all that you bless this world with. 🌎 ❤ Know you are always in my thoughts and prayers. If you ever need to talk and be real. I am here!! That is what you do for a living. I get to hold scared spaces with people. I am a chaplain and Reverend. It's the greatest honor to allow the vulnerability and healing process to happen and walk that road with someone. Know that I see you. And you are worthy of love, trust, and to be cherished in this world. With much love, gratitude, and respect, Christy!!💛💛💛💛😊
“Let it be known that I tried” - that line cuts deep 💔
The 1st time I heard this i broke down on my floor. Going thru a divorce is unexplainable pain. I also left and could never put into words this straight and simple. for those of you who haven’t watched her interview with zane lowe, here's what adele said: "i'll never perform this Live, i can't even listen to it without crying so much i have to leave the room, it's just too much for me. i imagine i'll sing it to angelo when he's in his thirties one day. it was originally going to be the launch campaign for this album but i thought it was just too much. there's no studio equipment in the room we were in, i just had to use photobooth."

There's something so personal about 30 that I think it just makes us feel part of everything she's feeling in every song. I don't mean that the other albums didn't make me feel that way, but this just touches a very deep fiber in all of us. Acceptance, suffering, the feeling of letting go, the fear, the anxiety, every emotion comes together in such a profund way that each lyric elevates me from my reality and places me in her self. You're a blessing to this world, Adele.

Reason better, and thinking it through all the way, regardless which direction our emotions may sway. We can find our voice when speechless, our strong words with meekness and our Courage in weakness. Always patience not quickness. Silence for peace than loudness, quietness of fear, not hopeless, for time and effort are equally unbiased. We are more than the stories we're told, we're the one's we write, each page unfold.
