The ending of a 37 year marriage deserves a song that sums up the loss of all my hopes and dreams of a family that I loved with all my heart. The sacrifice of my family unit so I could love myself is my biggest regret. It hurt me deeply but was the most necessary thing to save myself from a life of further despair, emptiness, and being unloved. She put all of my jumbled emotions in place with this song. Let it be known that I tried. For almost 40 years, I tried. This song moves me to tears and I play it daily. It’s helping me heal because it speaks my life from beginning to end. God bless Adele for giving me (and others) this song. She’s speaking my truth. Edited to add that sense I posted my comment, my life has had a complete turnaround and I'm now in a good place mentally and emotionally and my children tell me that I actually saved my family. We were in a bad place and sometimes a thing has to fall apart to be rebuilt correctly. My path is clear. My heart is healed. Many thanks for the beautiful and encouraging comments. And many thanks to Adele for being courageous enough to speak her truth.

This album came out just as I started my healing journey with trauma abuse and mental health. And this song is by far the best song on the album that describes everything I feel. From beginning to end! Lord I scream the words to this song with her because the pain is felt! “I’ll be the one to catch myself this time. All I do is bleed onto someone else”

I have been single for 5 years, but this song takes me back to how it felt to be heartbroken. If you are going through a difficult break up, hang in there you will get through it.

Having gone through a separation with my husband when I was 30, and being a single mom in an instant, it was a time to reflect and figure myself out. I stepped away from a toxic relationship, recently. Long overdue. Of course there were good times, a lot of bad, but learning experiences from both. Regrettably, I could have done things differently, as could he. I never knew how my path would end up, because I sacrificed so much just to be loved and to be accepted. I broke up with my partner today. He tried to mold me into someone I know I can never be. This song is so beautiful. My spirit stirs every time she gets to the line "But oh my, oh my". The chord progression here descends just until we get to the main chorus. To me, it feels like the exact moment you realize you can no longer accept any less than what you deserve but you know how much it's going to hurt to move on to bigger and better things. Sounds like real piano and zero auto-tune. You can literally hear her backing away from the mic on the belting parts, almost like it was a one-take. Slight double-vocal at the end but doesn't seem like much processing besides some reverb and letting her do her thing. One of the best vocalists of our generation. Such a personal/powerful tune as well. Queen.

This song speaks volumes to me. Even more now than it ever has before.. It makes me feel exposed and accountable.

I like how toward the end she’s making this sound at the end of her phrases where it’s like a weird combo between a growl ,and a vocal break/cry at the same time. Done for emotional affect. I think it’s genius.

I lost my life partner on December 25, 2020, she passed away early Christmas morning and I still haven't picked up the pieces. This song resonates with me so well. Maybe I'll never truly fill this void.

I can't imagine how you feel. All I can say is, hold onto the memories and may it warm your heart, knowing that you experienced true love in this life at least once. Some people never get that chance. Keep that love and bond you both had, in your heart forever. God is with the both of you on different sides of this life. He will get you through each day.

I've just reached 30 myself and recently divorced so this album really hits home for me. But this song, my god this song hit me real fucking hard. What a genuinely incredible album and such interesting timing for me. Thank you for such an incredible masterpiece. ❤️

So much loss, but so much to gain. Just heart wrenching. Watching, as a parent, the struggle, the emotional turmoil as a daughter is confronted with the decision to lose one parental relationship in order to gain herself. That's how this song fits with me today. Watching my child lose the one relationship she yearns for so much but will never have. My heart breaks for her.

The pain really hurt so bad but good at the same time. Love such a powerful thing.

There is an unexplainable emotion in that “LET IT BE KNOWWWWNNN” wail she does at the end… gives me chills every time I hear it. This song alone grants her the upcoming Grammy for Album of the Year ✨✨🤍🤍

Masterpiece... that's the right word to describe this performance. Just brilliant.

This is one of the greatest vocal performances of all time. Up there with “I Will Always Love You” and “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” … truly AMAZING.

Adele is my therapy 🪐

This could be the only song on the album and I would buy it. Makes me cry every listen. Rip my heart out and stomp all over it, Adele, will still love you. So much emotion. Such beauty and power and heartache. I feel my own life in this song, and feel the emotions Adele surely went through, as well. How brave of her to share such intimate pieces of her life with us!

Really? This album is great, but 21 was a project that just so naturally happened and that effortless quality will always result in one of the greatest works of art ever, IMO. I think 30 isn’t close to that.

Adele's vocals on this song are simply mind blowing and you can feel every emotion when she belts out at the end this is why she's one of the most celebrated singers of this generation.

Absolute masterpiece. I never cried over a song like this. Very deep and meaningful. ❤❤❤ This songs just speaks to my soul somehow.

Since now, I couldn't imagine that she could write a song sadder than "Someone like you". SHE FXXXIN MADE IT, and it's like being with your back to the wall and you keep receiving arrows. You wish you could skip them, but there's a feeling inside you that sticks you there, keep on hurting more and more to every arrow that you receive.

Coming back to this song now knowing that it’s about her dad-just absolutely wrecks me all over again. We are truly witnessing a once in a lifetime treasure

Her voice is incredible, but her song writing ability is off the charts amazing. Poetry from the soul. Just wow

Have a listen to his music an you'll hear how the rhyme structure and even a lot of the wording is extraordinarily similar to the work he's been knocking out for a few years...

This has to be one of the greatest songs of all time. Such an angelic instrument and she orchestrates it so beautifully. 😭

Oh my gosh, yes, I can just imagine someone getting a standing ovation after the last belt of I tried…No, not really. Adele is good, but Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine dion are the ones who have superb voices with clarity in the upper, middle, and lower part of their range. I’m speaking of them when they were in their prime like Adele is right now.

It’s hard indeed!! When I sing along I can sing the whole song now but on the end of the last chorus yup there’s tears dropping down. I also find singing when you are in tears is the most hard thing to do but it will also feel so very powerful. 😇 I love this song!! 🤩

Dear Oprah This will be the Anthem song I feel. Honestly I needed "30" cause I turned 30 in August & walked from a toxic relationship last year & choosing me was hard...but here I am being happy having found myself through the process. So thank you Adele, thank you.

This song came at a perfect time for me. This song encouraged me to confess my feelings to a friend. Although it didn't work out it was the best desicion. I got the answers I needed and I felt so much more at rest within myself. Truly endless waiting for answers is no good! Let it be known that I tried- rejection is far better than regret. Thank you Adele for this masterpiece!
