Most of the general population is lazy and struggles to even walk 3-4K steps on a daily basis. But there is a small % on the other end. As an exercise addict myself, it is really hard to find balance. At one point, I was lifting 6 days per week for at least 90 min per workout, I was doing at least 60 min of formal cardio every single day, and I was walking 20-25K steps daily just for general activity. To try and find balance, I've scaled back lifting to 4x per week for only 30-45 min per workout, reduced formal cardio to 150 min per week, and cut my daily movement in half to 10-12K steps. What's sad is that my reduction is still far more active than most people. So that says how much overkill I used to do.

Good for you for cutting back! I can relate to so much you're saying... I am also addicted to cardio, especially HIIT, weight lifting and walking at least 10k steps a day, terrified of ''losing'' progress or muscle mass or something... Along with an eating disorder, my exercise addiction ruined my social life, my school reputation and my mental health. Hope we can find balance one day and set healthy boundaries.
