I think it shows the power of a great singer when they can convey the meaning like this. I hope you can react to more Hua Chenyu soon, I would suggest perhaps one of his more emotional songs like "I really want the old me back" from his 2021 Mars Concert, or something totally fascinating and different such as MadHouse (the 2019 concert version is brilliant, as is the Singer 2020 performance) Once more, thank you. 🌺🌺

Cedric, always love your reactions. You come at the music videos from a different angle. I guess it is the actor/story teller in you that lets you focus on that side of Hua Hua's performances. This song, though understated, sends chills up my spine every time, especially the vocalisations near the end, and I have listened to it many times. I would dearly love to hear you react to Hua Chenyu's song, Conversations with Martian Children (kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y4CdlcaGnZnZkpM.html), which is a song he wrote with his fans. You definitely want to turn on the subs with this song though. The lyrics are important. Most do not react to this song, not being one of the most popular. You have to go looking for it, which is why I included a link. To me, though, it is one of the tenderest, most understanding pieces of music I have ever listened too.

Wow, great assessment from not knowing the lyrics. I liked your comment about waiting to have total concentration on the performance when you are truly ready to invest in it. So you were able to get the purpose of the performance. His vocal control is astounding in this song. As you said, he takes his time taking you on a journey with him.

Hua Chen Yu's works reflect the current social situation, the relationship between humans and nature, and the psychological state of contemporary people. He uses music to record his own world and life. You should listen to more songs composed by him. All of his albums are really wonderful.😘

Probably time for something completely different, Cedric. I'd suggest the Broadwayesque Performance of "Perhaps Love" with the stunning vocals (and.... something Hua Hua tries to avoid 😂) of Hua Chenyu and Su Shiding. Their voices are spectacular together. So there's another duet by them.. "Nanping Evening Bells". If you want to see possibly his best long breath(s) watch "Nanping". It also shows his music arranging and ability to sing with a partner. There should be a version of Ordinary Path with English Subtitles (like most of his performances).

Very interesting reaction as always, thanks! I totally agree with people suggesting to check HCY's own compositions like "Seven personalities" / "Bullfighting" / "Madhouse" etc. Also, there's another phenomenal singer from China, Zhou Shen (I'm sure as an actor you'll appreciate these 2 very atmospheric songs, "Ring the Door Bell" and "Bloody Love Story").
