    Isn't it best to be in a slightly knee flexed position so tight calves will not compromise the movement?

    Do you fixate the heel to examine the mid tarsal joint in inversion and eversion and fixate the tibia and ankle to examine subtalar joint ?

  • @Physiotutors

    @Physiotutors

    5 жыл бұрын

    In AROM there is no fixation. For PROM you definitely fixate the proximal joint partner and move the distal joint partner as distal as possible. So for in- and eversion you'll need to fixate the talocrural joint in its close-packed position in maximal dorsiflexion. We're planning to do remakes of all of our joint play and PROM assessment videos soon as we feel they could be better.

    Abduction and adduction are included in the movement of the ankle? Theres places where i just see as ankle movements inversion eversion dorsiflexion and plantarflexion and theres places where is all of that plus adduction and abduction in the transverse plane. Thanks

  • @Physiotutors

    @Physiotutors

    5 жыл бұрын

    No, talocrural joint: Dorsiflexion+Plantarflexion, Subtalar joint: Inversion (combined movement of plantarflexion, adduction, supination) and eversion (combined movement of dorsiflexion, abduction and pronation)

    How can I know that whether my ankle tendon is tear or just pain

  • @Physiotutors

    @Physiotutors

    5 жыл бұрын

    By getting your ankle assessed from a qualified Physiotherapist. Tendon tears are usually traumatic in nature so due to falls, twisted ankles, tackles etc. there will be hematoma (blue/black ankle), swelling due to the tissue damage. Furthermore there are special tests that a clinician would do to evaluate the extent of the injury

    Hi! Is it possible for the ankle to dorsiflex just by extending the big toe? I can't move my ankle by focusing on 'moving the ankle' due to some weakness but if I perform big toe extension, my foot/ankle dorsiflexes naturally...

    Are you supposed to be able to do inversion and pltarflextion at the same time?

  • @encouraginglyauthentic43

    Pltarflextion happens when you do inversion. But you can do pltarflextion without doing inversion.

    If it doesn't interfere with your daily activities/sports or causes you pain, there is no need to see a doctor. Some people are just more mobile than others
