ACLR Rehab - 505 Test

Have you considered the 505 test in your mid-late stage ACLR testing?
The 505 test is a great challenge to the ACLR athlete in that they have to run as fast as they can for 5m, decelerate and then plant and turn 180 degrees before taking off at speed again in the other direction for 5m again.
In a nutshell, the athlete gets a rolling start and when they cross the line (or moves through the timing gait) the test begins, and the test stops once they cross through the start line again (or pass through the timing lights again).
This isn't as easy as it may look or seem - especially for the ACLR athlete - and those with lingering quads weakness +/- RFD issues will have a clear difference between limbs.
Test each leg 3-5x and have a look at best effort each leg over the 3-5x reps and maybe also look at average time for the 3-5reps you're doing.
Hot tip: Those that are struggling with this test may need some isolated quads strengthening and some deceleration drills in their rehab plans.
