    @@DrewElia yes it's smart marketing. Knowing you can buy a board from Acedeck (mutiples) and know they will probably have retro fit upgrades as the technology improves instead of having to sell the board and upgrade. And nothing like bolting new tech on that you notice the difference. Brings back the new feeling again. Nice work again Drew.

    Perhaps there are existing DKP center pins from other manufacturers that might be a compatible fit? Likely it wouldn’t be too difficult to make one custom with a machinist. Adding a Waterborne surf adapter to the TKP is a another solution. Also the Major Arc trucks work amazing on the front and have a low stack height. I even mate both systems together on all of my boards (also using the rear adapter) to get a really agile front end with my rear trucks reversed for stability…it’s an unusual set-up but I’m convinced it’s unmatched in providing the best worlds of stability and nimble handling

    Finally got these in mail today, well worth the wait. They look amazing in quality and design. Took a bit of time to mount up but went very smoothly. It’s great having your assembly video however I do feel it’d be good to include a small printed diagram and simple directions to make sure all parts and screws go in the right place. Included gear grease is super sticky lol, was not expecting that. Packed it in and it runs super smoothly; quite a bit less loud than I thought, it has such a sweet mechanical purr. Haven’t mounted wheels and ridden yet because I forgot to order 10mm inner bearings for the X3 rear truck ( I use a Major Arc in front). I got their rear truck to make sure everything was compatible and a perfect fit. The precision trucks are amazing. The whole set-up looks so good, can’t wait for these bearings to get here so I can finally shred this beast of a Frankenstein board

    All dressed up with nowhere to go! Franken-Board is ready to rip but we’ve got rain on the forecast for the next week and half at least😢😂 Wow, the Element drive sounds so good! It’s like a very satisfying mechanical feline purr from a well engineered turbo charger, not at all loud or obnoxious as I feared it might be in person, rather just loud enough to give some sense of excitement and feedback. Tested it out a bit in my building’s indoor parking lot and it’s response and ride feel seem amazing. Can’t wait to get out on the trails when it’s finally cleared up a bit. This dang PNW winter weather be messing with my esk8 Wha-Pah game Here’s a list of parts on this one: Electronics: battery, motors, ESC and remote from Meepo Voyager Deck: Santa Monica Airlines old school Cruiser repop Front truck: Major Arc Rear truck: Acedeck Ares CNC with Element drive Waterborne surf adapters front and rear Waterborne carbon extenders front and rear, mounted on EU bushings for some suspension Front wheels: Formula 110’s with custom carved Shark wheel grooves and cross drilled, Acer ceramic bearings Rear wheels: meepo 110 rubber Riptide bushings (and cup in rear truck) Shredlights front and rear(upgrading to blutooth version soon) Very thickly padded grip tape made from layer of cork subfloor over a layer of yoga mat.

    You can get the nomad n1 customised with this cnc gear drive for 1299 usd with the molicel battery... sounds like a good deal to me... you can run the mad wheels 105 v2 on it or even some hota all terrain 6inch wheels... The torque is enough... I would like to see a acceleration test woth the 180 wheels and the at adapter on this thing.. then yuo probably have to switch in s+ mode ;-)

  • @DrewElia

    I’ve learned how to take S+ mode! That’s a deal for that board! 180mm is large, I’ve just been testing 175 with the newest OMW board and loving how they feel. The gearing ratio on the element gear drive is 2.8 and on larger AT tires would be sluggish

    Hey brilliant video! this is the best resource I have found by a margin to help. I have two very random questions, (I have just done the reverse of this and installed the old gear drive back while awaiting the at wheel adaptor for the new one) I'm just second guessing the placement of a couple of washers, where do both of the ultra thin washers live? I assume behind the motor bearings in the top covers but can't make it out properly in the video, sorry to ask. Also is the rattle between the at wheel drivers and the wheels normal? Any tips to reduce the rattle would be great, thanks for any help 😊

  • @DrewElia

    @DrewElia

    3 ай бұрын

    Not sure what rattle you’re speaking of, if it’s a clicking noise then you’re probably fine it’s just the gears settling into themselves as it rolls forward and backwards. Yes the washers should be between the top plate and motor I believe, but reach out to Acedeck directly and they can definitely help you.

    Is this the same as the Linnpower V4.3 CNC Gear Drive ? It’s says that one only takes 150mm-200mm wheels and this 90mm-150mm wheels . Is the power and performance the same

  • @DrewElia

    @DrewElia

    7 ай бұрын

    No it’s not the same as the Linnpower, that gear ratio is higher for AT style wheels. This is geared for street style wheels. You can use up to 155mm on the new set up but it will be laggy almost as powerful off the line. This is really meant for 100-110 style street wheels. Just rocketing around on those.
