I'm honestly amazed they didn't announce this in a direct; this is absolutely huge! If you've never played AC7 or an Ace Combat game in general, do yourself a favor and pick this up. It's an absolutely incredible experience. Oh and one more thing: make sure you're playing with good headphones or a decent sound system- the soundtrack alone is worth the purchase price.

To those of you who ain't played Ace Combat before and will play this, have fun in the skies alongside a great cast of characters. This game is half a decade old now, but is still amazing and worth playing. To those who like me only played Assault Horizon Legacy on the 3DS before this, same universe but you arent Phoenix this time, this game takes place around two decades later with many wars taking place between the events of AHL and 7. Oh and to those who played AHL's extra missions....be ready for a familiar foe's "child". Iykyk when you play it.

I also played the 3DS one and then gave Ace Combat 6 a try but didn't like the difference in controls. Does anyone know if know if Ace Combat 7 allows you to move the plane "Star Fox" style, where the direction you move the stick is where the plane will end up facing? Or is it more like 6 where moving left and right tilts the plane 90 degrees instead? Also, the final extra mission on 3DS where it was you vs 4 laser drone planes was unreal.

Even if you aren't into planes or dogfighting, check this game out. The story is absurd, the OST is outstanding, and the mission design is very diverse and interesting. It's a shockingly good game.

Reminder that CPPR and Saber Interactive somehow managed to cram entire of The Witcher 3 into switch. It's doable but you'll need some belkan witchcraft to be able to pull it off. (and a lot of ghrapical downgrade)

The game ran at 1080p/60 on more powerful hardware so this running 720p/30 with some graphics settings lowered shouldn't be a problem.

​@@celestialarmor695 It's Top Gun in videogame form, and it's really interesting. Their mission structures often don't revolve to just "blow up everything" as there is a puzzle structure in missions, you have true freedom on how you want to tackle mission objectives. Ace Combat is a game where listening to the mission briefing is actually important in order to not fail the mission. And oh, there's not many checkpoints and missions often go to 30 minutes.

This was my game of the year five years ago. Can't wait to experience it all over again.

Finally an Official Ace Combat game on the Nintendo Switch.

Don't sleep on this one, folks. Not only is Ace Combat 7 just a great game in general, support shows both Bandai-Namco and Nintendo that there's a market here for these kinds of games. Could lead to some great projects like an Ace Combat game made with Nintendo in mine a la Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise or a new Star Fox Assault game.

Nintendo always knew about its marketed audience. It's Namco that's the issue. Most no one in that company wants to port games to Switch, and those that do end up making shoddy ports because Namco left them out to dry (ie, no funds, resources, support). Even the producer of this game commented on it being a very attractive platform, but Namco was screwing them out of a potential Switch port back at launch. It's a miracle that it's getting a Nintendo port at all

WE MAKING IT OUT OF SOLITARY WITH THIS ONE For real, of any of y'all haven't played a game in the Ace Combat series before, I highly recommend this one. I played it on PS4 but I'm glad to see it on Switch.

This game had one of the most epic and emotional final arcs IN GAMEPLAY I ever experienced in a game. You literally feel like you are the only one who can change the course of a war and save the world from absolute chaos and destruction, and not because you are some kind of chosen one or have some kind of superpower but more like you are the only one the ability and skills as a PILOT to really make a difference in this war and go face to face with the single most skillful pilot in history. This is a game where you REALLY see a difference and have a great sense of growth as a PLAYER and as a pilot in the way you control your aircraft and generally how you play the game compared to when you start the game getting used to the controls and feel of the mechanics. Please make yourself a favor and play this game that made me fall in love with this series.

I don't know, I think this might be the first Ace Combat game on Switch Also need some Starfox cameos since it is on a Nintendo platform

As a fan of the saga, i hope you really enjoy the game, its amazing and gonna make you feel like a hero.

What a god tier game AC7 was. The older games are good too of course, but whata surprise to see 7 come to Switch. I wonder how the framerates will be though. I may check this out just for another excuse to replay it. Also, Ace Combat has some of the best music out of any game, that's how incredible it is. If I recommend anything, look up the OST for the series, it's what sold me years ago.

AC7 was a great game in it's own right, but it's more like a cautious comeback in terms of everything - story is mediocre, gameplay is one step forward and three step backwards compared to previous parts, but the presentation and online multiplayer is fine. They've proved the point and let us scratch an itch for a fast paced aerial combat, but they should definitely put more effort and/or creativity in the next installment to keep it up.

Got this game a few days after it released on PlayStation. The emotions it makes you feel.. they are amazing. To this day, even the trailer still makes me smile. To Skies Unknown…

I haven't played Ace Combat since ps2. I'm excited to get this on Switch!.

I hear this game has one of the best soundtracks ever, definitely gonna check it out.

From a distance I always thought Ace Combat games were simply some generic fighter pilot sim, but as soon as I heard the soundtracks from this series, I haven't been able to stop listening. This is a great reminder that AC7 is in my backlog and I need to get to it!

Engaging gameplay and beautiful soundtrack as usual for Ace Combat. Daredevil gave me goosebumps because of how well it fit with the action on screen. Ace Combat is always a mix of love/hate to me, but in a good way because they put you in tricky scenarios where you're flying under, over or in the middle of hard to maneuver areas for extended periods of time where it has me going "I hate this, but it's awesome." That said, while I love what they do with the gameplay, if it wasn't for the music I'm not sure I'd be as into it. Unfortunately, I always feel like it's the fans that take note of it and when it comes time for things like awards, there's no mention.

Seriously so excited for this AC5 is one of my top 3 favourite games of all time you have no idea how badly I've wanted to play this

I’ve never been so excited about a game I’ve owned for 5 years already on PlayStation!! Whoever hasn’t played Ace Combat you are in for a thrill! Read up on the back story though so it makes sense.

This is only the third Ace Combat game released on a Nintendo console since Ace Combat Advance on the Game Boy Advance and Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy on the Nintendo 3DS.

No joke, if you’ve never played this game, it’s sooooooooo good!!! Play a few levels and you’ll be hooked

To whoever plays on the Switch and has not tried this on any other platform: Play this. It might be kind of cheesy and ridiculous, but man, what a ride. WHAT. A. RIDE. If you played Assault Horizon Legacy on the 3DS, this is all that and much, much better. Enjoy it. Oh, and the soundtrack. My goodness... blew me away. I'll debate whether to get this as well, although I already own a physical copy on the PS4 and have it on Steam as well. Playing it on the go would be amazing.

probably going to pick it up on switch even though I have it on PC with most of the DLC. It's the only game I ever actually bought DLC for.

Never expected this on Switch.

The last time i played ace combat was Ace combat zero on ps2, i’ll give this a try when it release.

Played shattered skies before, this game will awaken those emotions again

Not gonna happen - products containing licensed properties has a hard times being re-released, because there should either be really big demand just to cover the licensing, not to mention to pay for development and make a profit, or all the planes to be replaced with a fictional ones, which is s big change and will most likely decrease the game's estimated sales even lower.

I've held out on this game for so long. Now lets see how this plays out

Ace Combat is a series I don’t know much about but always heard great things. Maybe I’ll pick this up when it comes out

I really hope this doesnt disappoint cos AC is a really good franchise and i would love to be able to play it again

Holy crap, this was unexpected! What a pleasant surprise! Already have AC7 on Xbox and Steam, but it looks like I'll be playing through it yet again on Switch. Thank you, Ba-mco! 😊
