Unless they change it I think Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD will also probably have Charles Martinet too, and I guess Thousand Year Door too but obviously that’s only small grunts, after that though, might be the end of Charles archival voices.

I love that this remake is keeping the original voice lines from the original game. Most people would call that cheap and lazy, but the original game had some of Martinet’s best material and I can’t wait to hear it all fully decompressed.

They unfortunately didn’t keep all of the voice lines from Mario. Hopefully they might be moved to later points in the game and not all be fully removed but if they are just gone then it just gives a reason to return to the original alongside also playing the remake

I'm glad Nintendo bring these cutscenes back to life. It's like my childhood has been revived. 20 years is just insane! The original becomes a remake. Mario vs DK and Paper Mario: TTYD! I'm so happy that it finally happens!

This is so fulfilling to see these cutscenes fully realized. It's like I'm seeing something I've known since I was a kid for the first time again. Thank you, Nintendo.

1:05 I like that the Toads paused for a second & then started screaming in terror 😅

I love how the audio stays faithful to the original, especially with the original voice clips, while only making changes for consistency. For example, DK doesn't say "Hey, cool!" and only makes ape noises. I do hope Mario's Italian babbling wasn't removed from the opening cutscene, though. I thought it was charming.

I believe in the original game, DK's voice clips were taken from Donkey Kong 64, where he was voiced by Grant Kirkhope. This remake uses his more modern voice actor.

Aw man, how could you not have the "No you dont, nooo you doooont" and the "Oooh, you ma mommy, fsjnejfnejnfiewfewfni-doh" XD But a wave of nostalgia did hit me with the Mini Mario Toy schpeal on the tv from the GBA game all those years ago.

I absolutely love that they did this whole animation for it, it’s just so well done and brings us back to the classic DK stuff

im happy that they dont just retroactively replace the original mario voice lines with the new guy. at least we get to hear charles' voice for a little while until they run out of stuff to remake/remaster

I hope one day Nintendo makes cartoons to this quality. Maybe give them real dialog too now that Mario has a new voice

I still think Wish looks really good. It's just that the animation was made to be presented on a movie screen, not a TV screen. The watercolor effect looks pretty good, and I can't find anything bad about it.

Smashinity = Donkey Kong The animators, content creators and true talented people = The Toads People who catch Smashinity plagiarizing and stealing content = Mario

I don’t understand how people aren’t understanding why Mario isn’t saying the original voice lines anymore, this was a project that was most likely started just before Martinet’s retirement from the role of Mario, so they kept Martinet’s voice but couldn’t record any new lines, so they’re just cycling through Wii U era Mario voice lines for this remake, a bummer for sure, but understandable given the circumstances

This was my first ever game, and watching the scenes brought me memories I didn’t even know I had, thank you Nintendo for bringing this masterpiece back

I love how out of all the games Nintendo decided to make FMV cutscenes for, they chose the Mario VS Donkey Kong remake of all things. But hey, I ain't complaining.

Things to confirm: 1: Mario owns a Toy Production Company, which means that Mario is making money. 2: Multiple toads are working at said Toy Production Company, which means either slaved labor, or unenslaved labor. 3: When Donkey Kong entered the building, the toads panicked instead of trying to alert some form of security, which means a lack of police force in the mushroom kingdom.

This took me wayyy back to when I just a boy with a gameboy. Also, I could never tell if it was “Buy them all” or “By the mall”

Not even Mario says “Come Back Here! No you don’t! Nooo you don’t! What’re you doing? What’s a-going on here?!?” I miss those lines.

Donkey Kong is so cute

I kind of overlooked this game because it came out around a time I was too young to actually play the original myself. Seeing this cutscene fully animated is really cool. And I love hearing the famous arcade jingle as well.

I love how cute and simple the story is.

If it’s a heist of mini proportions that doesn’t sound all too impressive. It sounds like a minor inconvenience.

Ah that Charles Martinet. Nice Italian boy. Surprised they’re reusing his voice clips from the original release (uncompressed of course) when DK has updated non-Kirkhope voice clips (pretty sure Grant’s DK was used for the original), but it’s a welcome one to be sure.

The fact that DK passed up a commercial about bananas to buy these Mini Mario toys is a testament to Mario Toy Company’s incredible marketing

I have a question: Why is there a sack with DK's emblem in the Mario Toy Company?

This game never gets old.

Imagine if they didn't sell out. The entire game would be over with before it even started. Kinda funny to think about.
