This game had probably the best storyline ever. It's so in depth and really gets you attached to the game. I love this game, wish there were more games as in depth as this. I really wish other game developers would look at this game and see what a excellent storyline is.

I remember playing 4, 5, and Zero with my dad who was an Air Force pilot. We had so much fun playing together. He taught me so much about planes, and he was really impressed with some of the game's realism like how the HUD looked and a lot of the maneuvers they taught you. Plus the writing and music in these games was really well done. Memories I'll cherish forever.

The planes and cockpit's looked a awesome and the combat was good...besides that It was still a disappointed to me..first off only 15 missions that I could beat in a day. It had 15 different aircraft....now ace combat 5 had 29 missions and like 53 aircraft...huge difference... And the story was amazing.... AC6s story was OK but...it was bad for the game.... The story because it wasn't even about the game.. It was about a mother trying to find her kid ...it was so off topic

Cutscene 25 and the takeoff sequence of "Aces" is the story that a mechanic by the name of Avril Mead will tell us about 9 years later during the cutscene preceeding the final campaign mission of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown's conflict, the Lighthouse War. The cutscene occurs after Operation Daredevil, whose purpose was to destroy the final Arsenal Bird named Justice, and whose prototype counterpart Liberty was destroyed in Operation Dragon's Breath at Stonehenge, and before Operation Hush, meant to take down the two ADF-11F Raven drones, Hugin and Munin, whose etymology comes from Norse mythology. GOD OH GOD THIS IS AMAZING! wish it didn't go so off topic though...

Ace Combat 5 is my favorite too, but in AC6 defence the missions were quite longer and I liked the battle system that spread across the whole map. Also I found the story cool, especially how the game keeps talking about when we'll finally reach Gracemeria, and when you finally do reach the city it's really the peak of the game. AC5 had 50+ aircrafts but lots of aircrafts were just recolorations of other aircrafts with small stat changes. And the gameplay felt far more responsive in AC6. All in all, from a 'game' point of view, AC6 is the better game. But AC5 is just so much better when it comes to story, setting and how the plot is brought about.

@@MrZozue I wouldn't call AC6's story a trainwreck, it's certainly more intimate and smaller scale than AC5 but the characters are endearing and the buildup to Gracemeria works really well. Not all story needs to be tentacular like AC5's. But Xbox exclusivity sure sucks

AC6 dealt with some incredibly ugly realities of war. War orphans, civilian displacement, survivors guilt, and wounded warriors to say a few and dealt with them in a very human way. Even the final mission had more of a somber tone, like you facilitating the death of a nation, and personal talking on the ground were well aware of their fate. Personally, I loved 6. I love 5.

Watching the Kestrel sink still makes my body shiver and brings a tear to my eye. Nostalgia at it's best. I remember when this game came out. Things were simpler those days. 20 years old now and I still don't stop thinking about the good times.

Despite finishing this game 2749816412times, i cannot believe it took me this long to realize, the zeroes in the cutscene at the start of the game, flying the sukhois who shoot down the trainees, are actually Onfir, and i imagine Grabarc in their f15s did something similar in Yuktobania to help start the war

Thing is there was nothing wrong with the old ace combat formula competitve online doesnt really go with the game to be honest what made this game was the story and I'm yet to experience something that in a single game rivals that of ac5

One of the best story lines to any game. Cutscenes can only say so much; the gameplay completes the story that the cutscenes show.
Great story, really brings a tear to your eye. I'm betting that was Nagase and her daughter in the final scene, and Pops flying high over the "Closed" base.
The first Ace Combat game I ever played. Never actually had a favorite plane, except the F-15 and Su-27 classes. Both planes are true predators. The story was awesome, and the graphics superb. When I finished this, I felt empty, knowing it was over, and so I kept playing it, until my PS2 broke. Back then, games were all about fun. Now though...
If any game is worthy of a reboot on PS4, this is THE one. One of the best, compelling storylines in video game history.

There Was Absolutely No Flaw With This Game. B-)
I keep coming to this awesome game since i got my flat ps2 before 😭😭😭 this is the 1st game i played in ps2. The cinematic the plot are impressive it gives emotional and different experience as you encounter unique gimmicks of enemies like the hologram jets etc. Razgriz Squadron and Pops are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
One thing that Ace Combat does great is make the player feel awesome. That awkward moment when your squad is so epic it threatens to end a war too quickly and some Grey Dudes try to have you assassinated.
Thanks for putting this together, such an amazing storyline for this game
I like how pops looked angry when the gun was pulled on him.

8:32 Puddle of Mud! How did I not notice that when I last played this game?
You are a god for making this
This is Back when games focused on the story's way more .when I played this game for the first time I just played it to get to the different cutscenes and see how the story' went....the newer game ace combat six was only good to the new graphics.
I just realized that AC5 is basically Sum of All Fears with pilots as the main characters instead of the CIA
I think I might have actually cried the first time I saw Kestrel go down. It was like 2am, I'd been playing hard, clearing level after level and then here I was: at the end.

Thanks a lot !!

That. . . . . . . . . . Was awesome

This is the best ace combat game
My father giving me this game on birthday : "All right, not my type of game but ok, i guess." Me after 4 hour into the game : "I have never been so wrong in my life."
The ps2's cutscene quality was just so fucking mindblowing...Why is it so good?
Welcome to feeland... damn I miss this game.

I love 5.
