Also, I remember someone going through this level with an X-49. He went so fast he actually crashed into the placeholder sky at the end of the tunnel.

I would be surprised if it wasn't for the time in Assault Horizon Legacy when I first unlocked the ADF-01 and did the sink the dragonet submarine when after I destroyed it it went flying out of bounds.

@@user-dh2ev9sc4c Oh yeah... I may have misremembered the X-49 bit. Then again, the guy in that video is using an XR-900, essentially Neucom's/Curved X-49.

@@IllusionistsBane Well... i do know of one vid of a person speedrunning Tunnel Vision with the X49, they don't crash into it, but they somehow... fly straight through as the mission ends.

There's a chance. There's a 20-year gap between 7 and 3, with the only things filling it being X/Xi and Ace Combat Advance which was just... bad. In an interview, they mentioned that AC8 would move closer to Electrosphere, and be centered around the role of AI on the battlefield and how AI and Human pilots would share the skies

Hands down still the craziest tunnel run in the franchise.

Yeah AC3 OST is good, both Armored Core 3 and Ace Combat 3

I like how atmospheric this mission is. No shooting, no dogfighting, just the feeling of the environment around you. It's like you're really entering a tunnel leading to a subterranean and highly technological city. The creepy, futuristic but oddly magical track playing almost appears to be echoing from the tunnels. Only you and this odd, technological and eerie environment. It's simple, subtle but magical and very effective. Ah... these japanese game developers and their intentional or unintentional (?) focus on atmosphere.

So this is what becomes of the International Space Elevator. The same tunnel used by Trigger is used once again by an evolution of the thing he was fighting.

I believe in retrospect, one of teh factors that made this mission so dreadfull is the terrible texture resolution, coupled with the PS1 trademark texture distortion due to a lack of floating point opperator, both those issues made it very difficult to gauge distances, or how close you were to crash into a wall.

You won't feel those dreadful things if you play it on CRT TV because they are designed for that

The version I played haven't any dialogues, you only see flying planes and you imagine what was occurring, haha.

Actually, ever since AC04, they're slowly moving up to Electrosphere. It's only a matter of time before the AC3 Remake becomes a reality.

Hasegawa 65607 R-103 Delphinius 3 - the only one I know and it's EXTREMELY rare. Search in japanese websites
