I just ordered mine a couple of days ago and then this video pops up. Crazy yet, I also ordered the standard Bond one for my Speedmaster. The best Nato Strap is Omega's but I heard so many good things about this strap that I had to try it. Basically, it's kind of supposed to be a clone of Omega's.

Good review! What is the dive watch with the red and black bezel and orange second hand in the back on the leather watch holder? It looks nice.

The two things I always complain about with Natos is 1. Stretching when it gets wet 2. A spring bar buckle. Can you tell me how the Phenomenatos do in this regard? Thanks for the detailed review.

Watch Gecko Swiss Style Bond has a sliding keeper, and positions the buckle behind the wrist. Good strap for the money.

On NATO bands you have the "outer band" and the "inner band" (which is much shorter). It's nice to have a long outer band so you can "cut" to fit if it is too long. However, the "shorter inner band" is the most important because if it is too short, it will not be positioned on tthe middle of your wrist. I have a 7.875" wrist so it plays a huge role so that the buckle is in the center of the wrist. Most of the time the outer length is suitable as long as I don't thread it through the "inner band". But, if you have a large wrist like me, make sure the "inner band" a bit longer than normal, which will give you the ability to slide it to the right position. I think the PhenomeNato might be my new place to ship.

I think Zulu straps usually have 3 rings but are a single length of nylon. I prefer them bc there is only one layer of nylon between your wrist and the caseback. For increased suppleossitiness.

So you guys got the standard size (ie short)? You said there's a longer one; they only have a short and long...So are you sure you have the short one? That seems like a lot of strap remaining for what you say is a 7 1/4 inch wrist. I was about to order one but I'm not so sure now... I also would have loved for you compare and contrast the standard and HD versions.

They always compare Phenomenato as the perfect alternative to Omega’s OEM but is it measured exactly 20mm or like Omega’s 19.5 to fit both 18 and 20mm. Can you please measure it for me? Thanks!

Short, definitely. I have a 7 inch wrist and the short model gives just enough tail to tuck under both keepers.

I agree that the buckle on most NATOs sit off center and the outer side of your wrist. Looks odd when I started wearing NATOs more, but got used to it.. Doable.. generally have no choice, and they don't get in the way being off centered so no big deal. But, aesthetically, it would look better centered at the bottom of your wrist like these straps do. So, props to this strap for considering the buckle position when it's on the wrist so it's centered. Yes, tuck the end on the inside, not the outside. It looks cleaner and less chance of the end piece catching or moved out when it's on the inside. And having a NATO too long is better than too short.. especially when the end piece is too short to tuck, but just long enough to stick up straight from the last keeper. So annoying. Luckily, I don't have any of those, but I have seen that. Having the keeper able to move is cool, but I'm not sure it would matter too much to me. The way both keepers are fixed as they are on most NATOs works and never had issues using them as is. It works on Adam's speedy! Is this or other pricier NATO's worth $40 and up? Even $25 and up? Maybe?.. I would say if you didn't need or want more design & color variety and happy with just the one or a couple, then yes. You will be wearing the few NATO's you may have that much more often and should prefer a quality durable NATO that lasts and wears great. If not and you would rather have more NATO colors and designs to mix up more often, then I'd say go with some of the less expensive ones that are around $12-15. They work and when you switch different NATOs more often, the wear and tear will be less obviously because each will get less usage time. And, even if and when they eventually wear down badly enough to need replacing, it's not that expensive to replace later down the line.

Was really interested until I saw that you had a buckle in the middle... I wear Natos because it's one little band and fabric under my wrist as I use my PC all day at work. If I was willing to put up with a buckle right in the middle of my wrist I'd just wear a bracelet.

What I really don’t like about Phenomenato straps is their pricing policy. It says 40 dollars on their website, you add it to your cart and now it’s 50.80 dollars because they add 27% VAT. If you want to pay with PayPal it’s another 8.89 dollars plus 3.45 for shipping. So in total it’s 63.14 US dollars for ONE strap! That’s ridiculous! No doubt it’s one of the nicest straps out there, but you can get two, in my opinion, equally nice nato straps from Moose Strap Co including shipping from Canada for 50 bucks.

It's basically the same as the Omega NATO straps. I do own both the ones reviewed here. And also I own a standard black Omega NATO for my Speedy. These straps are def equal in quality to the to the Omega. Especially with the sliding keeper. Hope this helps.

Not letting viewers know which is which (HD vs Non-HD) is plain dumb. Isn't this suppose to be a review? What are the pros and cons of HD and Non-HD? What the difference between the weave? Someone like you guys might not care and think both are equally good but to other, they want to know they made the right choice is purchasing the ones they prefer.

If you don’t wanna take the time to respond to your viewers when there asking you questions regarding the videos your posting than don’t make the videos. That simple. It’s rude. And I stopped counting once I hit 20 un responded questions or responses on this video in the comments. Don’t be mad cause I called you out on it. Just correct it or stop posting these vids

I immediately dismiss these because I have a strong dislike of nato straps. I do like that the thinness minimizes the dreaded nato strap man-bun but it is still there. I just think putting a nato strap on a nice watch is like wearing flip-flops to a dinner party. Anyway, I enjoyed the video nonetheless. Always good to see you guys bro down.

  • @stimpackedmarines

Dismissing for that reason just shows how insecure about looking casual. Not everyone wears fancy suits and shiny dress shoes every day you know? It's one thing to not enjoy the look of it, but if you think it takes away from your "dapper gentlemanly m'lady classiness" then that says more about you than the strap.

  • @MrJamesDuffy

Whoa there, I was just being tongue-in-cheek, self-aware, and hyperbolic about an opinion. By satirizing myself, I intentionally disqualified any disparaging remarks so I could go on to complimenting the product and the video. As for what my comment says about me, it is less about insecurity with looking casual than my preference to not wear nato straps or an actual insecurity about showing my gross man feet in a semi-formal setting.

I have a blushark alpha bond Nato. Now i know it will pair well with my moonwatch. When I compare the omega Nato (that comes with the gigantic speedy pro box) with the blushark, honestly I can't tell the quality difference. I think when Nato got to a certain price point like $20-30, it is really really hard to tell the difference with omega's one.
