This was the main event of today. With Hudson’s system firing on all cylinders again, Josh, Asa, and I took advantage of that, and headed to this coded Banshee 110 that is mounted on top of their fire department. St. Croix County was late with testing this morning, starting the tone out at 11:08 or so, with Hudson’s FSK coming at the tail of quadrant one as usual. When this thing wound up, it felt like the world turned upside down. It was EXTREMELY loud, especially from up close. It is easily the most impressive omnidirectional siren I have been to by quite a long way. It rattled me pretty well, even from far away, and seems to cover the downtown area of Hudson nicely. I will try and get back up to Hudson for their other two sirens eventually. Enjoy!
St. Croix County tests their siren system on the first Wednesday of every month at 11AM, weather permitting.
