@@lvl10cooking I think it’s because of a few things :) 1. it’s basically making you see her as fully rounded person, this isn’t just ‘creepshow art’ who has done all these terrible things and come close to absolutely ruining someones life, this is a girl who has a family, a childhood, a full life - even though none of that negates horrible actions done in adulthood, it can evoke empathy in some people and make it hard for you to just see her as a horrible, manipulative creator 2. Children represent innocence, if you look at pictures of (just for an example) killers as children, you’ll find it hard to see how they could grow into a person that could commit such terrible, depraved acts. If when you go into Shannon’s profile, ready to unfollow or write a message about how terrible you think she is, if you’re met with a child version of herself before you do so, you may start double-thinking and maybe not actually going ahead with what you planned to do Basically, She’s manipulating you through the last Avenue she has - the fact that she’s ‘just a young girl’ -, and probably someone most of you used to like and empathise with, in order to try and escape the inevitable backfire. I really don’t think it’s working at all though, like nice try but, I think she’s finally going to have consequences for her terrorising actions

As One who is working on getting an anti-social personality (aka the informal “psychopath”) diagnosis.. This isn’t just straight psychopathy - there is narcissism tied into this. Psychopaths aren’t mutually exclusive to narcissism. Just as narcissism isn’t mutually exclusive to sociopathy. Sure, we may have difficulty with empathy. However, not all psychopaths are liars who lack a moral code. Sure, we plot and scheme - and get off in it - though, not everyone does it, in the manner to purposefully hurt others. I have no problem with social climbers - as long as it’s done with mutual integrity and respect. I don’t develop many emotional attachments and I use everyone to learn my own life lessons; though - I appreciate everyone I have connected with, on the levels I am able. Sure, I use that relationship for my own benefit. However, I purposefully look for how it could be mutually beneficial. So, for an autist psychopath, like me - I think like one; though, it’s used in a virtuous manner. I mean, what good would it do for me to do shitty things, in the end? How is that a sustainable life? Obviously, as Shannon has proved - it isn’t. Though, I’d like to say.. I’ve know men who’ve done this sort of thing out of emotional rage and jealousy - plotting and scheming to hurt someone. I don’t believe he was a psychopath. Sometimes people do bad very bad things - who don’t have a personality disorder. So, just something to, please, consider - when attempting to label people who do awful things, to others. Not everyone who may fall under that label, medically speaking - are even willing to ever to such awful things. Such awful things, to which - every person on the planet, holds the capacity to do, if ever pushed to it. 😉

The IP spoofing is less than "incredibly unlikely" - it's next to impossible, even for a pro hacker. A hacker can spoof an IP address for a DDoS, but they cannot spoof an IP address to connect to a webpage and, for example, post a comment. They would have to control two different routers that would require specific knowledge of the target server and the REAL version of the IP address they want to spoof. This is due to the TCP handshake, which is the server checking that a computer is opening a connection, and the computer saying "yes, I started this connection and wish to continue." Computer connects to server. It sends a specific set of data. This is initiating the handshake. Server receives the data, and then sends another set back to the computer. Computer sends another set of data to the server. THEN things like loading a webpage or logging into a service happen. What happens if someone spoofs an IP address? Computer connects to server, using a spoofed IP. It sends a data packet. Server sends a data packet to the machine with the IP address that was spoofed. The machine doesn't send a response since it didn't initiate the handshake. The connection ends.

There is also the fact that, if we are to believe “Amy” did spoof the IP, that would mean she’d been doing all of what you described for at least THREE years. After all, Shannon was only caught a few months ago and was active on Lolcow for a while. Why would “Amy” fake an IP for such a long period of time and only get herself revealed after a few years to make Shannon look bad? How could she have known someone would track the IP? Basically, “Amy” would not only have to be a really good hacker, but a really timely and manipulative one too.

Even nation-state hackers often slip-up their OpSec at some point over that long of a period, and there's no goddamned way she's that good even if she *could* pull it off (which we both know is almost impossible to do _once_ let alone 300 times).

Just ridiculous things. she also befriended emily in such weird ways and was super nice to her. I think the emily experience is the CORE of this whole thing. She seems unhealthily obsessed with emily either in hate or in love, or both, she's gotten her fired from jobs before and she's made her life hell. Emily has wasted so much money on private investigators, therapy and all around its just.. It's too much. Also, i think the SA part is mentioned only a couple of times. She gets off on hurting other people. She can't control herself it just brings her so much joy and pleasure to see others suffering. I truly believe she's a sociopath and that she didn't care if she ever got caught or not. She probably got arrogant enough at one point to believe she was untouchable but in the end she just wanted to see others suffer too much to not take the risk. I am normally very against cancel culture but I think we all have more than enough evidence in this case to know for sure this person is a terrible person and does not deserve the career they've been given. Shannon can go back to living in her car. I always wondered why her family and friends didn't help her when she was homeless and now I know. As a former viewer of Creepshow Art, it's really just so confusing to me why she'd keep up a front while leading a path of destruction when she thinks she's completely anonymous. Edit: I see so many people in the reply section trying to blame me and other people who were past viewers for falling for her antics. Keep in mind a few things, I was young and very impressionable when I started watching her content and I didn't know what behaviour to expect from commentary channels and even if the tone was too off putting like even when she was aggressive, I wrote it off as her just being angry at whatever horrible person she was talking about. I didn't know how to read people and it was never obvious to me when a tone was bad or good due to my inability to read situations. I only realized something in her tone was wrong when I started watching people like D'angelo Wallace and Kurtis Conner who were never aggressive in their content. I didn't see the red flags until much later, I stopped watching her videos about three months ago because I just couldn't stand her and that was around the time I started looking for podcasts instead. I'm sorry if you feel annoyed by all these people feeling betrayed but you have to remember that she manipulated an entire audience and the people closest to her - we're all just victims in this scenario and the only person to blame is Shannon.

This one instance of Shannon giving Glare flowers is not exactly love bombing; however, given Shannon's behavior towards people like Omnia and Emily, and how she love bombed them to back them into a place where they felt like they had to go along with Shannon and felt guilty if they didn't, I wouldn't be surprised if this weren't the only instance that Shannon has done something like this to Glare. If they were as close as implied in the video, any kind gestures could have been brushed off as "friendship" rather than manipulation. The thing about love bombing is that it doesn't always immediately precede shit hitting the fan. My narcissistic mother has love bombed me all my life, taking me on extravagant vacations or buying me expensive things out of the blue and then using her "kindness" against me in a disagreement. She still holds vacations we took 15 years ago- when I was an elementary student- over my head.

Having a friend hurt you is so painful. You let them into be a part of your life and it's taken for granted. Friendship break ups are not talked about enough. They're just as painful and hard as a romantic breakup. You feel foolish and dumb for letting someone take advantage of your heart and spend days thinking "Was any of it true? Was it all just manipulation?". You have momentos and gifts around the house that are tainted now because now you see it as them buying your friendship. It sucks. Big time. My heart goes out to you. Zero social life and I’m completely fine with that honestly. I have like work friends, I may go grab a beer with them once or twice a year ya know? But they don’t really know me. They know absolutely nothing about my past. It’s kind of a running joke at work, a coupe of them refer to me as Mysterio in jest cuz I don’t talk about my life with them. Unless you’ve been through it, it’s impossible to empathize with how psychologically traumatic the act of being betrayed by someone you’ve invested a lot of trust in truly is. I’m so sorry you are experiencing that due to this situation. It’s completely understandable that you still have compassion for Shannon and I hate that you feel the need to defend that bc people lack the life experience necessary to understand how cruel it is to expect immediate condemnation or suffer guilt by association. It doesn’t make sense that so much energy would be put into a facade for the sake of self-promotion and grappling with the reality of her false persona doesn’t negate that the friendship was genuine for you. You should be permitted the space to grieve that loss and to wish better for Shannon bc she clearly needs help. This isn’t a pissing contest, but my lifelong BFF from age 4- when we were in our early 20s, her vehicle was vandalized and broken into whilst she was in the gym working out. The vandal and thief stole her bank card, some petty cash, and left one of her windows broken. That happened on a Thursday. She called me that evening after going to the police and she was so upset and rattled. I felt so terrible for her and again, this was my very best friend since we were practically babies. I didn’t hear from her for a few days, but we worked at the same club and I came into work on a Sunday night. I saw her. She saw me and the second she looked at me with a look on her face like I had never seen in my life, I felt my heart sink. I didn’t know what was wrong, but I knew something was very wrong, just in a moment, that is how much I loved her and could feel her energy. She refused to speak to me. I spent that entire night following her around the club, begging her to speak to me, to explain what was wrong. I was so devastated. I called her then boyfriend and he told me that she was upset because she believed I was the one who broke into her vehicle and stole from her. She believed that of me! I was shocked, sickened, and stupefied. For weeks, I tried to contact her. I left voicemails begging her to have a conversation with me. I asked her to have the police come arrest me and take me in for questioning. I was so hurt that she would ever think that I would do that to anyone, let alone her. There wasn’t a friend I had ever loved so much. Never has been a friend I supported so much. Never will be another friend that I will love like that. She broke something in me. She never spoke to me, and we never had a conversation. It was BAM! No contact. Also, she told all of our mutual friends and worst of all, her parents and other family that had loved me like family since the day we met in 1982. She told everyone that I’d done this awful, criminal, horrible thing. I lost my best friend, and I lost the relationship with her family, as well. I cried over this for over 6 years. It was truly that devastating. I am a very tender hearted person, and that will never change, but that experience and others since have made me so much stronger, more resilient, and now, when a friend does something that is hurtful and I’ve been betrayed, I just cut my loses and keep it moving. It’s self preservation. I’m leaving out details, as it is still painful and exhausting to explain this. But yeah. People suck. I much prefer the company of animals.

I can’t say that I loved her content. I can’t even say that I agreed with much of her statements. She just had an interesting approach to how she “scripted” (or more likely, improvised) the dialogue within her videos. But, it became harder and harder to continue watching/listening to her videos. Mainly, it was due to how she seemed to be either 1) becoming the person she adamantly claimed she wasn’t, or 2) she was allowing the mask she wore to slip and who she really was all along was visible. And, to be honest, neither of the two were very attractive. I can’t say that “Ah-ha! I KNEW there was something wrong with this woman!” because that’s not really the truth. Her content just started to feel disingenuous She would claim to dislike people saying or doing certain things, and then all of the sudden she’s partaking in those very things herself. She stood there for all the world to see yelling from atop the precariously unstable pedestal she’d built for herself that this kettle or that kettle was black…and all the while she was the godd@mn pot. The only thing I can say for certain about how I felt was that it was uncomfortable for me to continue “supporting” her by watching her content. So, I backed away from her content until I just couldn’t even stand seeing thumbnails of her videos. I unsubbed and never went back. It’s just surreal to know that I, along with SO VERY MANY others, had unknowingly watched this creator braid a rope, knot it carefully and almost lovingly, and then savagely hang her reputation and the friendships she’d made until the kicking finally stopped. I don’t know that I’ve ever personally seen anyone hoist themselves by their own petard in such a brutal fashion prior to this.

I started smelling a rat with Shannon's content about a year and a half ago, when she started ragging on content creators that I was a fan of. So much of what she said either felt like a lie or was demonstrably false. And a lot of it went after people's personal character. It seemed like, if she knew those things, she would have had to have gone digging. Or just made it up. Now that the truth's come out, seems like Shannon's been the kind of person who didn't grow out of high school level character assassinations; she just got worse.

I think it’s so unfair that people demand instant responses and reactions of people when their friends are exposed for being harmful. As humans, we need time to process our complex emotions and I think we should all try to be more patient with one another instead of demanding people speak out immediately or writing them off as enablers or complicit. I hope you’re taking care of yourself above all else 💗

@Oli Ver KZread comment sections are Nothing compared to lolcow, you should really check out what's posted there. KZread, Twitter, etc still have terms of services that limit what you can say (hate speech, targeted harrassment, etc are still not allowed) and you can still report those to get the comments/users taken down. Lolcow has a completely different TOS that allows these disgusting stuff to fester.
