Learn the ABCs in Portuguese with this quick Brazilian Portuguese lesson. Speaking Portuguese is no easy task, so start slow with a Brazilian Portuguese Alphabet Pronunciation lesson. The Portuguese Alphabet are essential when you will need to spell things, like your name, using Portuguese letters. Luckily for English speakers, the Portuguese alphabet uses the same 26 letters, although K, Y, and W are only used in loanwords. Sometimes Portuguese letters have accents, which will be covered in a later lesson.
In this easy Portuguese video, our native English speaker will say each letter and then it will be repeated twice by our native Brazilian Portuguese speaker. Not only in portuguese, all languages expect english, english has a Crazy way to say the vowels sound

In Portuguese e is pronounced /e/ or /ɛ/ not /eɪ/, which is how a is pronounced in English.

Not exactly. "E" in Portuguese sounds like "E" in the word "hey". And "A" sounds like the "A" in the laugh "hahaha".

Nope, I'm from northern Brazil, it's the open e as in "bed". It varies from region to region, in the state of Maranhão we don't use the closed E and O sounds
Hahaha, lembrando uma coisa. Muitas pessoas confundem a pronúncia das vogais E e O no alfabeto. Porém eles são fechados Ê e Ô e não abertas como em É ou Ó. Assim como a moça do vídeo pronunciou.

Tanto faz na real, ambas as pronúncias estão corretas de acordo com a norma. No nordeste do Brasil, norte do Brasil, rio de janeiro, parte de minas e em Portugal se aprende que é "é" e "ó", com pronúncia aberta mesmo. Os livros e a gramática ensinam assim também.

@@beatrizsodre7624 Dáblio parece mais a forma adaptada do inglês, e Dobrevê, vem da forma latina. Fico com a impressão que chamar por Dáblio veio depois, e pegou.

O "Dobrevê" pode ser visto em outras línguas que se derivaram do latim mas no brasil nós chamamos de "dáblio" msm

Isso nao é invenção sulista amigo. Isso é o português correto, as vogais abertas só são mais presentes no português brasileiro. Mas é tudo questão de dialeto e região. Sou do Rio de Janeiro e aqui tbm pronunciamos com sons abertos 😁
