As pessoas que falam espanhol costumam dizer que é mais fácil entender português brasileiro do que o português europeu e pessoas que falam italiano também (mas não é todo mundo!)/People who speak Spanish often say that Brazilian Portuguese is easier to understand than European Portuguese and people who speak Italian also (but not everyone!)

Brazilian Portuguese is so much beautiful in my opinion than Portuguese from Portugal... And easier to learn, it's what people say... About English, American is the best to learn, and British is more elegant.

In my opinion the first things to learn in any new language is: 1- Learn really basic things just to get you a flavor of the language and make you start little interactions. For example: "How are you?" "What's your name?" "Where are you from?" "My name is..." "I like the..." etc. 2- Learn the sounds of the language (really important): Every language has a set of sounds, some of them already exists in your native language, but some of them doesn't, so if you never know these new sounds your brain will have a hard time trying to decipher the words. For example comparing English and Portuguese sounds: - English has a "th" sound that doesn't exist in portuguese. - Portuguese has nasal sounds in words like "banana" and words with this symbol "~" - "São Paulo". This video helps you with all the brazilian portuguese vowels sounds: Portuguese Vowels - Ultimate Portuguese Pronunciation Guide. 3- Learn a little of grammar, the basics of how the structures of the sentences works. For example: - In portuguese a sentence is built almost like in english: Subject + Verb + Object "I eat rice = Eu como arroz". - In english the Adjective comes before the noun, in portuguese it's the opposite: "The blue house = A casa azul". 4- While doing all the previous steps, watch a lot of content in the language you want to learn to make your brain get used to the sounds, the rythm, the regional expressions etc. Watch TV Shows, learn the culture of the country that speaks that language, listen to songs, put your smartphone in that language, read news and articles. Don't forget to put subtitles in the language you wanna learn, it doesn't matter if you don't understand anything, your brain is powerful, with time, patience and a lot of exposure to the language you will start to get the context. 5- Talk every single day to someone who knows the language you wanna learn, preferably natives (There are many free discord servers where people go to learn and practice new languages). And don't focus too much on grammar, at least not in the first months, but focus on useful phrases that people use daily.
