There are a few words with o/a endings in this video. When you say “thank you” in Portuguese, the gender of the word should match the gender of the speaker. In this case, she says “Obrigada” while a male would say “Obrigado.” For “friend”, the gender of the word should match the gender of the friend. A male friend would be “amigo”, while a female friend would be “amiga.”

Tip: if the first letter of a word is 'D' then it's pronounced as a 'G 'sound in Portuguese.

Only in brazilian portuguese ! In european portuguese you pronunce the 'D' the same as in english !
