I’ve been studying Portuguese for 9.5 years now and I’ve visited Brasil 18 times but I still can’t read or converse and I have to translate everything into English to understand. I study every day and I practice every day with my Brasilian girlfriend for 1-3 hours and we’ve been practicing for 6.5 years now. I still can’t understand her except for an occasional word so she has to speak slowly so I can translate everything. I have classes, read books, use apps, watch movies and KZread videos and practice with native speakers and in study groups. I haven’t been able to understand any words without translating which prevents me from conversing. I can’t order food yet because I can’t understand what the waiters are saying. I’ve never had problems learning before. My pronunciation and spelling are good.

That's right! You may also hear "casa noturna" and "balada", but "boate" is probably the most common.

I’m sorry for being so vulgar on the language learning video. It’s just.. “é muito gato” 🙈🙃😭 (I learned that from the other video Vinícius did 😂). I also learn a lot from this video as well. I apologize for the crassness in my expression. Thank you for posting these videos.
